If someone would fly me there....I'd do it. 110% I'd do it. Hawaii is my favorite place to ride bikes. Mauna Kea was closed this Christmas when I was there. I settled with Haleakala and that beast is no joke.
Haleakala is hard, but doable for anyone reasonably fit and the right gearing.
The only really steep grades are the punch out of Makawao and the short final bit from the visitor centre to the summit.
Mauna Kea has all that cycling above 2500m. That's where things get tough.
My goal this summer, if my fitness allows, is the High Rouleurs Society. 10,000m in 400km minimum in less than 36 hours. I have a route that doesn't repeat a climb and is a big loop.
Mont Ventoux from all three sides for 36 hrs on your France trip ???
It remains to be seen whether they will open France to Canadian travelers this summer.
If I get to travel I'll do the 50km running race I signed up for, provided it isn't cancelled. The organizers in Morzine say it's still possible, but who knows.
My HRS route in Europe would probably be the Tour of Mont Blanc route with another climb added somewhere to get the 10,000m.
But... that requires crossing the Swiss and Italian borders, so doubtful that's allowed either!
Maybe two loops of La Marmotte route?
My Canadian HRS route is a mix of paved and hard packed gravel roads (doable on a roadie) between Pemberton and Cache Creek using parts of a sufferfest the locals do called the "Hellracer".
Gotta have some sort of goal when all the racing is cancelled. To date, my hardest ride EVER has had only 3300m of climbing, so going 3 times that might be a bit insane.
