I don't have a horse in this race. The South Carolina versus North Carolina game has been outstanding. 11 minutes 43 seconds left

I'm also pumped to have college football back! The best game of the day is starting--Oregon vs. Auburn. It's great to see the fans pack Jerryville in TX for this neutral site game. The place is packed.

That's a sharp contrast to the Stanford game. That was embarrassing. There was no on there. Kudos for Brock Huard of Foxsports to call out the lame Stanford fans. They are a ranked team and the place was nearly empty.

My Cats honored the Hefty Lefty today and avoided a loss in a trap game against a good MAC program. Being a life long UK fan, I know how this football program goes and it was entirely conceivable they would come off a huge 10 win season and historic recruiting with a loss to Toledo. Instead they pulled through and covered.

Trap game? They were looking past Toledo to Eastern Michigan? Or the SEC is overrated?

And Tennessee lost to GA State. Love it.

My Sun Devils won Thursday night and my K-State Wildcats are starting the Klieman era out OK.

Stanford was deceptive in terms of crowd size. Tons of people watched from the edges of the concourses to stay out of the blazing sun. Also, the side of the stadium that drew more shade stayed full (perhaps got fuller as the day wore on), but that isn’t the side seen opposite the press box.

Sorry my ‘Cats couldn’t find the win in this one. Classic NU; great D, who knows what will come of the offense.

I still love the rivalry and pageantry but I tried to watch some of the Alabama game today. Every time I flipped to it, it was a commercial. Once I got the game broadcast but nothing was happening except a bunch of zebras reviewing a play. I ended up watching the last hour of Mahogany instead. Diana Ross was something else.

I honestly think that Oregon was the better team but the only thing that counts is the final score. Go Auburn. Great game to watch.

With a few dozen games every week, there will always be a few worth watching.

But there are also some real duds.

Anyone want to take NMSU to cover the spread (55.5 points) vs. Alabama this week?

For Auburn to overcome that true freshman QB, the offensive line play, and the linebacking core... wow. That was like pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
I appreciate the way the sport of football punishes teams that play not to lose. Oregon easily had the talent to win that game.

You sure do give the SEC a lot of rent free room in your head.
