it looks kinda weird to see sponsorship on the bike right? (the bike is basically Freshi's branding/colors and has their logo)

or am I just imagining it? do other pros have this???

Hopefully Freshii has got his meal plan & supplements down :). You know the Germans do. How can they race like that & still drink viel bier? Mystery.

Speaking of downing it, them bars are low, and has his hands up - that's cool.

I agree, he looks good.

Also looks like he isn’t rocking the P1’s anymore. Looks like speed play. ST approved!

I noticed that as well and I am not sure I like it. If he has tested it fine, but when you put athletes with massive engines, and the need for lots of fuel, you are risking the absorption formula. Also possibly a tight back. Given how important nutrition was a few years back with the Camelbak I am going to call it now, while fast, this position is going to be a net negative over the entire race. We shall see.

I like the new fit as he is more stretched out. He seemed a little scrunched after going to a smaller frame. I do wonder if the switch was due wanting more reach or an issue with the tririg setup. My take on it was that it wasn't planned and the bar and frame change was very last minute. Hmmmm.....

From the instagram post, I am assuming something happened to his bike and he is using this as a temp. Probably had something shipped in super quick or maybe picked up whatever was in stock at the LBS. It looks pretty bare bones to be a race setup rig right now.

“Cramped”?? His knees are like 5 inches from his elbows!

“Bare Bones” “In stock at LBS” ?? That bike has $800 worth of CeramicSpeed parts on it.

Pretty sure local bike shops don’t carry garneau tri bikes with restaurant branding

I was about to write the same and you stole the words off my keyboard. It feels like it is approaching the Bjorn Anderson position, with his nutrition needing to move "uphill" from his head to his stomach to digest (not to mention the hamstring/back part). From this pic, it looks like his bars could be an entire inch higher and not change his frontal at all given the top of his head is lower than the high point of back and I am not sure that the low pressure area behind his head and in front of his back can be filled in with a long tail aero helmet. But hard to know with just one static shot.

Maybe true. But Jan also has a flat torso and a long tail helmet. Gotta be Jan to beat Jan.

Definitely didn't look close enough at the derailleur to see the it being ceramicspeed stuff. Why would he be getting a new bike? Just because or is this a newer model? To lazy to ship his bike from home?

I know he is sponsored by freshii but is there freshii somewhere branded on the bike or you just going by the color scheme? I didn't zoom in anywhere on the bike to see sponsors (or components as another poster pointed out).

I agree, sadly I don't think this would stop new threads emerging or even every non Sanders thread being derailed to a Sanders thread.

Usually it is Alistair Brownlee who is beating himself by injuring himself. It seems that Jan decided to be like Alistair to beat Alistair!!!!

I thought he dropped a frame size and borrowed a bike to experiment with - so this is the official version.

Dropping the frame size lowers the head tube, will need more seat tube exposed.
If Kona has limited cornering why not produce a Kona spec frame with greater BB drop, short cranks and bob's your uncle.

IMO Lionel's a good candidate for the P5X design with his vargas(sp?) legs. That frame is all about shielding the lower body and does it well!
