I was just looking at a pic of the TT plasma 5 under Sylvain Chavanel in the TDF TT yesterday. Bike looks perfect. Like a blade in the wind... Chavanel not the greatest tt rider though..

Can someone take a look at their Bike and let me know if, in the picture shown, my RD hanger is bent. The RD seems a bit off and bit shifting well.
There seems to be a gap between the hanger and where it curls under the frame. Picture is taken from rear if bike, dropouts at top, gap between hange and frame in middle.

Yep my new frame came with a bent rear derailleur hanger. I removed the hanger and put it in the vice grip and bent it back to as close to normal as possible just to get it to work till I find the time to go order a new one. Honestly it works perfectly fine, but for peace of mind I want a fresh derailleur hanger...

So, it is bent? Not sure from what you said. After I took my race wheel off I looked at the hangar plate and can see some stress marks in the paint and it does look like it moves out slightly.
I would like to know how far it has gone though and see whether it is supposed to sit flush with the frame or have a small gap.
Are you ordering from Scott? There was another place that does them too. HERE based in Europe I think.

Yes it is suppose to sit flush with the frame. You are NOT suppose to be able to peak through the small gap. All you need to make sure it is perfect is that it lines up PERFECTLy with your Cogs both up n down and side to side. My hanger was twisted bout 4-5 degrees inward toward the crank and bent about 2-3 degrees laterally.

ok, if it was supposed to be off both up and down and side to side then I would be in luck. As it is ... new hangar required.
see my edit above. do you have a source?

Yeah I'm just going to go into my local dealer and have them order it since i'm in California. For people in the UK this seems to be the exact hanger that is on the plasma 3 as well;

Looking at mine then looking at this one it seems as though they are exact matches. I'm still going to have my lbs order just because international shipping costs just as much as the hanger if not more...

Yep. I wish they would beef up the hanger to be the strongest part on the bike. Maybe a thicker Ti hanger would be a great start...
I just know I don't want to deal with anymore small mishaps where I have to discontinue training as I wait on parts in the mail... the worst!

Haha, glad they don't. They are designed to be weaker than the RD so if one is damage it's the cheap one :)

Joining the club :D Here she is all ready to race this weekend.
But, what rear brake is everyone using? I have the ultegra 6800 and there is very very little clearance of the crank arm. Any recommendations

Dura Ace 6800. It has a smaller profile. I think I have a brake set if interested.

Newbie here desperately searching for a flat TT stem source. Has anybody done anything mad like take a premium riser steam to a machine shop and have them lathe it down to be zero rise?

Ok doesn't look like the TT stem is going to happen. Could anyone with a tri stem on measure from the front wheel axle to the base bar? I need to know how low (or otherwise) the front end is with the tri stem on.
Many thanks

Bit of a weird measurement. What will that tell you?

do you have an extra stem? I need one. PM me is so.

It would tell me how low a front end I could get with a small or a medium while stuck with the tri stem so I could compare with my current set up.

How many clamps do you guys have holding the arm pads on the stock setup? I have mind torque adjusted but find they slip every once in a while when hitting a pothole or bump. Looks like there are holes on the back and the front of the cups and I am thinking of ordering another pair as I am pretty sure double the clamping power will fix all that.
Interested to hear if any one else experienced this and what you did to fix it?

You can try this, I made it some time ago to try to bridge the gap between what people currently have as their fit and the Scott. It is not 100% accurate to the mm but should give you a very good idea of which size works and how far out (if any) from your existing setup the Plasma 3 would be.
