Nothing new here. Did anyone really think she was coming back? I wish she would have raced two more years though.

Damn. That's the problem with professional triathletes: so many of them are the type of people that can do a whole lot more elsewhere in the world, whether financially or just in terms of making an impact. Compare that with, say....Chris Johnson, whose answers in this interview are along the lines of what I would expect from a potato http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN0Hpt1oEP8

After putting in the monster training weeks she did for years, and then relaxing this past year, it's not really a surprise that relaxing was more fun than training.

Well that's a Daily Mail article. With their history of accurate reporting and diligent research this means its a virtual certainty that she'll be on the start line at Bussleton

I could only watch half, and I'm pretty sure I lost half of my brain function. Wow, my head hurts.

I was surprised to see this response from you. While you may be correct, you usually show a bit more style in your writing. Having a bad day?
I wish her well, but would love to her race again. I think we all under estimate how grueling Ironman is. She seems to have a good sense of self and will make a good choice.

Just bluntness.
Lots of athletes go overboard and f themselves up.
She was leaner then at least 25% of the male pros.
40% of male pros had bigger boobs then she did.
At least 40% of male pro's wished their legs looked like hers.
at first glance of her body 35% of all pro's thought she was a man, then they realized it was her.
Of that 35% 70% of them wondered if she would beat them, the other 30% knew she would and lots of dudes fell in that 30%.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what that sort of training can do to your body. It often takes years to reverse. I mean I've seen some pros in Feb/Mar then again in Sep/Oct/Nov and they look like they've aged 5 years in 9 months.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if she completely f'd herself.

Assuming you are correct, do you think if her, or anyone's, progression had been over a longer time that her longevity would have increased? Or is it that no ones body can take that kind of training?

Pretty ignorant.
Yes, I'm sure if she lays off the training she'll be a Playboy model tomorrow.

She retires undefeated at IM distance, correct?
Safe to say she is the one and only that has done this?

Man, seriously?? This is perhaps the stupidest thing I've read in a long time. I didn't realize boob size was the number 1 indicator of health. I have some female friends with small boobs. I should warn them they are about to die.
My only hope for you is that you are joking. I don't dispute training so hard takes its toll on your body, but your other comments are beyond stupid.
definitely surprised! i remember an interview with her around Kona(a few days before or after, I can't recall which), in which she sounded like she was planning on returning to IM next year
