It's really too bad that instead of celebrating the worlds top triathlete retirement..... Some dicks had to turn it into a gong show. She IS what you guys will never be.... A true champion with a big heart and smile to match.
Why Mods have not deleted this thread or at least locked it, is beyond me!
ST and our tri-community is better than this!
Congratulations on a great career, and good luck with the future!

How is anything that anybody has said been insulting or dickish? It's informed speculation that somebody worked very hard, was fully dedicated to their sport, lived their lifestyle to the max, and was incredibly successful while doing it, but ended up doing physical damage to themselves in the process.

" informed speculation". LMAO.. Exactly!
By people with truly very little medical knowledge.. Except what they picked up along the way, or Googled!!

Celebrate the accomplishment .... Not wreck the moment with "informed speculation"!

MFtroll,

Our moderators do an excellent job, the way I see it you have two choices: accept their moderation or move on.

You will find that your current choice of bash the moderators and preach to everyone else won't be tollerated around here for long.

Good day to you.

"Either you or I misinterpreted pattersonpaul's comment, and I think it was you. He was talking about DD, not you."

Yes my comment was meant for DD not MFtroll. I guess I shouldn't worry too much about him not being willing to coach
me since he doesn't read so well.

Find out what it is in life that you don't do well, then don't
do that thing.

I'm guessing MFTroll is one of those people who will not be supporting Leanda Cave anymore because she used the word "shit" in an interview? Grow some fucking skin and stop acting like your ears are going to melt from hearing vulgarities.
. I was going to give the persons on the other sites the benefit of the doubt, but, you and a couple of others have proved me wrong. Since attacks are all that seem to be accepted, consider this forum to not ever receive any money from me or endorsed to any body that I associate with. Great marketing job. No wonder people have left. BTW, I'll make sure Chrissie gets word of this.

Like Dan has said multiple times before. This site is growing every day and definitely doesn't need you, or me, to survive. See ya!

I am not one for all the petty sniping in this thread, but this has to be up there for quote of the year. The idea that he would tell CW about this thread, and the idea that any of us word care if he did is just hilarious. I should not laugh at his impotent disgust with all of us, but it is kind of amusing.

This thread went in a really bad direction. Why are we judging Chrissie and each other? She decided to hang it up. Hopefully, good for her and she won't regret it. She was good. Hopefully she is as good at whatever she chooses next. Beyond that, who cares.

Well to be clear, bashing mods and preaching is more acceptable then grammar and spelling errors...

My biggest point, if anything, is why is that language acceptable??

It's not, but I am not in charge here - only in charge and control over what I say.

People are free to do whatever they want but, here's what I have done. Ever since I first went on AOL chat rooms back in the 90's when I was first online, I have always used my own real name for all online comments. Same on Twitter, comments on media threads etc . . Why? It's a great check and balance. I would never say anything that I would not say, to a group of either known or unknown people who were standing right there in person and in front of me. That means using appropriate language, speaking from a place of respect and humility, and as best as I can speaking factually about the content or topic at hand.

I obviously am NOT going to use my real name due to security reasons (and fear of retaliation to those that have that mentality)

Why wouldn't you use your real name ( for the reasons above)? For security reasons? Security of what and retaliation? You can't be serious. I can only speak from my own experience here, but from following my own personal guidelines, I rarely get called out, attacked or flamed on here . . and here's another trick . . when you do, just like in real life and in person, it's always best to, when wrong, take responsibility for the situation and your actions, admit you are wrong, and apologize! So easy.

That's exactly why I use my real name, it keeps me accountable.
