Actually, I should have said,... No disrespect to Mr. Friel, but surely you must be joking.
I'm not a Friel associate, but I guess from the sig line you might get that impression. CyclingPeaks is Hunter Allen's operation. No disrespect to Hunter either, but if you put him in that list, my response would be the same. Obviously, you probably won't come up with the answer I am thinking of, and even if you do, personally, I think Dr. Coggan outshines them all. Sure he's a bit of a hard case when it comes to data, and research and unsubstantiated claims etc., but he was a central figure in determining (i.e. discovering) many of the things that I'm sure Friel, Carmichael et.al.... use as components of their training methods and recommendations. He may not be George Brooks, but..... (that's a joke, just in case he's lurking somewhere, and of course, no disrespect to Dr. Brooks either).

He is, the correct answer is Costill... but I don't think Andy would like the comparison, he's good, but Costill... well, needless to say more, the name says it all :-)

How do you know? Hmmm.....
Anyway, of course Costill has the name and the legacy of individuals he has mentored that are ruling the Ex Phys universe right now, but, I personally dig the metabolism stuff the AC was involved in. I guess it's just my personal affinity for his work that influences my bias.
