A minute or so. Two piece Synergy, sleeveless top. After my first race with the two piece set-up, I gave my Roka (at least 5 minutes) away.

I can't believe how few people do this. Stick em on your feet and hands and you'll have it on just as quick as a surf wetsuit.

It takes me about 1 minute, maybe 2, to put on the suit up to my waist. I typically add the arms at a leisure pace while walking from transition to the water. Then I ask some sucker to zip me up near the water. Perhaps it's 10+ minutes total, but that's more of a 'I'm a slow walker and easily distracted' problem than a wetsuit application issue.

3-4 min. Use some baby oil around your ankles and shoulders.

Less than 5 minutes with my DeSoto, no plastic bags or gloves needed.

10 to 15 minutes, using plastic bags and cotton gloves. i have two wetsuits, an Orca from about 2004 or so, and a newer Tyr Cat 3 from 2012. the Orca is a bit bigger and takes a bit less time, maybe 10-12 minutes. The Tyr is tighter and takes about 15 minutes.

It takes me 2+ minutes to get the Orca off, and 3+ minutes for the Tyr. Even with thel suit's legs cut off at mid-calf. The same lack of ankle and foot flexibility that makes my kick useless, also makes getting the wetsuit off a slow process. On the bright side, it is entertaining for spectators.

I don't have great ankle or foot flexibility but when my wetsuit is wet after swimming it's pretty flexible and slippery so it's pretty easy to pull off

10 minutes, but it feels like 20! Even with a plastic bag for putting my feet in. I usually have to start putting mine on 30 min before swim start bc it's an aerobic event in and of itself and kinda exhausts me. I try to take my time, too, so I don't puncture/tear the suit. I lost my last one (and swim PRs along with it) from careless on-putting...RIP, moment of silence :(

makes sense. I spend a lot of the time pull up the waste making sure it's as far up as I can get so that it's not too restrictive in the shoulders

Currently, both are ROKA (sleeveless and sleeved). Previously a sleeved Xterra that I quite liked and an Ocra that was awful. But probably just had a bad model on the Orca.

My old Helix took a while, getting the zipper started was tough and required some contortion but it was very tight. My DeSoto 2 piece goes on and comes off with ease.

I can get my wetsuit on very fast. But after seeing Roka staring it should take 10 - 12 minutes it has me thinking maybe I am not getting the full speed advantage I should be by having a suit which is not right enough

I feel terrible and can't swim when my chest is too tight, so I wear one size up. It takes less than 5 min for me to put it on.
When I had a right size, it took about 10 min. I used to use a plastic bag, but if I'm dry and pull the right spots, I have no problem putting it on without it. I had old Xterra but got newer Orca. I can tell it's been improved a lot through the years.

5 - 10 minutes. I start with my wetsuit inside out and roll the suit on from the feet upwards. Is great in getting wrinkles out and getting suit high in the crotch! Just make sure the zipper is on the right side when you start.

What's your trick for getting it off fast? As I have aged it seems my foot/heel gets stuck . . . sometimes I really have a hard time.

Sounds like you need a man to help you into that wetsuit.

I wonder how long it takes you to get ready for a date.

Practice practice practice.

It takes me 9 seconds

cut the bottom of the legs, on the back of the legs, cut up to just under the seam; it should look like a [curved] triangle was cut out of the bottom on the back. this will help you get it over your heels faster.

you also need to not be afraid to be aggressive with yanking each foot out of the leg when at your bike in T1. position your opposite leg firmly on the chest of the wetsuit, then pull out as hard as you can

somebody needs to make a video on how to put a wetsuit on right.

in this video, i'm purposely putting on a suit that's a size too small. this was a 3min job. it's a 2min job if you put on the right size. it's a 10sec job getting it off, if you take it off immediately after exiting the water.

if that's not your case, then you: 1) don't have the right size or style of wetsuit; or 2) aren't using best practices while putting it on and taking it off.

you shouldn't feel constricted. when we were all in our 20s, yeah. fine, get into the tightest thing you can, if you're a really good swimmer with really good open water skills and experience. now, me, i err on the side of a size too big if i'm in between.

and finally, too many of us are assuming - maybe it's a point of pride - that we should be able to swim in the same suit we've had for 10 or 15 years, altho we aren't in the same body we had when we bought that wetsuit.

Could it be for marketing?

Ya, if the suit is loose at all, not sized right.
On the flip side, if you can't get full arm range of motion, problem in sizing there as well.

5-10 minutes for my Roka Maverick (love it btw). But a good chunk of that is me screwing around trying to get the neck and shoulder sections “just right.”
