Not quite. Our official slogan is that were a drinking club with a triathlon problem. Usually drinks after group trainings...etc. Our Christmas party was engulfed with margarita machines and pumpkin cocktails. Some people say there was food there but who knows.

And of course when the club president is involved in challenges like this one it doesn't help our case! Haha

That said, I'm not so sure I believe the 3/day.....

Hahaha. Mrs. Quads snarfed on her wine when I cam home and told her that. She pointed out the fact that I'm on vacation for the next 6 weeks, have Makers and Vodka in the pantry, and a 12-pack in the fridge. Oh well, game on.

At least the build is going great, actually, better than expected except my favorite saddle does not fit on the post. 99% of STers probably have a better ride, but my LBS owner gets lonely this time of year (not much going on in the frozen tundra bike-wise) and he's giving me a pretty good deal.

Where are you located, and how do I join?

Frozen Tundra? Are you in/around Green Bay? Big Packers fan myself! Brought a bottle or Woodford Reserve home tonight. Could be a "good numbers night". Cheers!

No, Northern NY - on the other side of the 'Daks than Lake Placid. Great place to live to be a triathlete, and there is an incredible ratio of triathletes/population up here. First F amateur IMC and first M amateur 'Cuse 70.3 this year, and several other notable mentions. However, winters are long, cold, and dark and we aren't very organized (ie: we don't have Rattlesnake's kickin' tri-club).

Nice choice on the spirits. I was a huge Alan Page fan growing up, so not so much on the Packers (and I will admit, a Bengals season ticket holder for 27 years - still consider them my team).

Nice, post some pics when you finish the build. Wrenching is fun, great way to spend those dark winter hours... Yesterday was FAIL: no run at all - had to spend all day on my feets working (I normally push a desk) - but did manage some wine and one beer at least. At the liquor store last night (on the way home from work), I actually saw *nothing* that interested me... it was a frightening moment! Today should be better. LSD run with dawg and then mountain biking in the MUD! FuN!

Awesome! Sounds like fun!!! We just had slush-fest here all day - 43 degrees melting 2ft. of snow and I had no desire whatsoever to run on Mrs. Quads' treadmill.

I'll snap some pics of the bike when it is done - it is nothing special though but a lot of fun. My LBS has a cool relationship with ASI, and gets random stuff from them. He thought a D-6 demo bike might coming for me (presumably from Interbike) but a Kestrel Talon frame with an Airfoil Fork showed up. More fun this way, but I tend to cannibalize bikes which means after I get this one built I have to sort out the old ride before I get rid of it....

Going to rack up the miles tonight, Mrs. Quads is back from Christmas shopping (it takes 2 hours EACH WAY to get to a mall from here) so it looks like Rum, White Wine with the Cheese Fondue (she's Swiss), and maybe finish off the Makers'....

I'm saying hello because I rarely drink but tonight I am. Can't sleep and hoping a glass of wine will make me sleepy. Point wise this would be 1 wine mile + about 60 run miles.

I will now probably disappear for the rest of the month.

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine

Nice! Ride was muddy - I nearly endo'd on a washout, only FAIL-fell sideways, oh well - but tough - legs were tired. Then the start of HNIC at the local pub (GI Winter Ale...mmm). Now home with vino & chops.

2hrs to get to a mall? Jeebus man, I hate malls, but that;s insane. Don't you have *local* shops you could support? Just a q... I hate Wal*mart, so that's where I am coming from...

Good luck on the fondue; don't burn yourself.

We do all we can to support local businesses, and buy all of our meat, poultry, fish, pork, and bison local (we actually have a guy that drives a truck to Maine once a week to get seafood). And yesterday when it came time to get the kids new skates we went to the local used sports store. There are no chain restaurants, no Target or Kohls, and the recently built Lowes' is generally empty b/c of great mom-and-pop hardware stores. However, as with much of the U.S., we got a Wal-Mart two years ago and that is where most people shop.

I teach work, and recently assigned a response paper to this ad for a final exam project and wish more business owners thought like him. Plus, all of our bikes are US made except for the Kestrel (I really just need to save my money and drive over to Saratoga and get a freakin Serotta or Philly for an Elite though).

OK, to keep this out of the LR - it is raining out with even more melting snow today so it looks like a few hours on the dreadmill watching football. Yuck. Maybe I'll fill my water bottle with vodka and cranberry to earn double points....

Back to the topic at hand...

Office Christmas Party Friday + Saturday AM Run and Swim = Almost Impossible

I was able to run 6.5 miles. At no point was I able to take in any fluids. My stomach just would not allow me.

I took a little time to stretch before hitting the pool That made me feel a little better.

In the pool, I felt like I would just keep spinning every time I flipped at the wall. Heck, I even had a hard time following the black line.

This challege is harder than I thought it was going to be.

Yesterday's mountain bike ride + 13km run double, plus the double vodka sodas from yesterday are certainly going to make the 5-10km run with the dog this morning feel like #$&%. I suspect it will end up being on the shorter side anyway. After all, it's pouring rain out here again. Welcome to winter in Vancouver.

I hear ya, that was me last week... the run was brutally hard. Today will be short; had a nice little bail on my mtn bike yesterday (a failed endo, yeah I can't even do that right! ha!) and my R knee's not happy now. Add to that a 6yo up 4 times through the night throwing up - I think I got 3hrs of sleep and changed bedding 3 times. Blech. Bring on the football I say!

What is it with throwing up kids?? That what I have spent my morning dealing with. Now it is downstairs to run in place while watching the Bengals get stomped on.

No doubt. 4th load of laundry going in now. and that's after 2 solid loads of drifit. I think I'm going to start a new challenge: how many loads of training/racing gear do you do in a month?

I don't like that one. We have one of those giant washers that can do all the bedding from a king sized bed at a crack. It would be tough for me to get one full load a week.

Back from the weekend snowboarding trip.. went to the Buffalo Bills game today too

I kept track of the drinking on a few pieces of paper (that kind of weekend) that ill have to go back to to compile the results.. did some work for sure, including at the game today..

got a few miles of running in, but this weekend was definitely a "drink focus" training block.
