Zabriskie "dominates" on the P5 (pic)

He won by 23 seconds, and beat the yellow jersey leader Peter Sagan by about 4 minutes (maybe not surprising). Anyway, I'd LOVE to have this guy's CdA. I'm sure the P5 didn't hurt...

That position + massive watts + super sweet equipment = way, way more win. I never realized how parallel to the ground his torso is...

I've been comparing. I need to get lower, more narrow at the elbows, and get the short tail version of the helmet, and then I'm good to go =)

When the tri-rig brake arrives I think I will use the built in cable stop, and get a low rise headset spacer to get a bit lower.

They've got to get Ryder Hesjedal into the Captain Canuck outfit and they'll have their own crew of superheroes! (unfortunately, I don't think Ryder could wear the outfit as Svein Tuft is the current Canadian TT champ)

Silly aero weenie. Some day he'll learn that it's the engine that counts. Wink

Awesome picture. I just watched the TV coverage and they didn't have that many great side views.

Does he ride with one hand on top of the other?

Also, does he race with a powermeter? Speedometer? How does he gauge his effort?

Did you see his post-race interview? Another very important aspect of his win (the factor he seemed to think was most worthy of mention) was how he'd been to the course months before and made a video of it that he watched repeatedly. He had a plan for where to press and where to catch a little recovery. Course knowledge and pacing strategy are always key to good TT performances.

And where to glance up and actually see where he was going. Yikes

I didn't notice it today, so I think they changed it, but check out his skinsuit from last year. From behind, it looked like Captain America was wearing a Canadian flag because of the design on his lower back:

You have a follow car and a closed road and a race radio in your ear where the folks in the follow car can tell you what's coming up. And you peek up the road every few seconds as DZ did throughout the race today.

Closed course with nobody else around. You don't really need to see where you are going.

I do all that, only without the follow car, closed road, or race radio in my ear.
