I'm going to have to pass this year. Had hoped to be able to find the time but the next week is incredibly busy for me. I'm totally bummed.

The week after the training camp is just packed for me with a project for the Sea Otter Classic and the Thursday - Sunday of the camp will be prep time for getting everything ready. I'm going to be lucky to get some workouts in I think. If I can swing it I will definitely come but I may not be able to even decide until the weekend before.

Ah, that makes sense. No problem on the late decision.

OK maybe not. We withdrew the offer so it is dead. I might be able to make it after all ;-) Are there still bikes for loan?

I suck. I totally, totally, totally suck. Time compression in April, between work and balancing stuff in advance of heading to the Collegiate Nationals in Lubbock the following weekend (I'm faculty advisor for the tri club at my univ, and I'm doing the sprint race there too), and I think it's a bridge too far. So I won't be there.

:-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Damn and bother.

Bump!

I'm getting pretty excited for some training in the sunshine... I'm coming down early to hang out with some LA peeps, but am planning on coming to camp on Wednesday. If someone is flying into Burbank/LAX and wants to share a car, let me know and we can coordinate. I'm flexible as to my departure time and would love to have some company.

Cathy, if we borrowed a bike last year, do you know if those same bikes are available for borrowing this year? I'm debating whether or not I want to bring mine with me. If I need to ask Monty about this, just let me know.

Looking forward to it!

Flight is booked!!! Coming in Wednesday afternoon and leaving on Sunday afternoon.

Michelle - I might have room in my car. I'm flying into LAX, but I think I drive right past Burbank, so I wouldn't mind dropping in to pick you up. I might be driving up with Andy too, so I have to see how big a car I can rent. I'm definitely bringing my bike. It was great not having to travel with it last year, but the bike I borrowed didn't fit me very well and I spent a couple of very uncomfortable days on it. Beggars can't be choosers, though. Even though it's a PITA, I'm bringing my own bike this year.

Hi Dawn,

That's awesome, I might take you up on that. I'm actually staying in South Pasadena, so that may or may not be en route from LAX, but I can probably figure out a way to get a ride to someplace more convenient to you if need be. I know what you mean about the bike thing, I had similar issues last year even though the bike I borrowed was much, much nicer than the one I own. :-)

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait. Just got my training plan from my new coach and I'll be riding A LOT.

You might email/PM Dan and Monty both about the bikes.

Also, I need a definitive list by early next week so Monty can do food planning. If anyone has food, wine or beer issues/requests, please let me know.

Hey I get better options for flights i I fly into Burbank instead of LAX. If you are going to be in that area, and want to split a car, we could do that - unless Dawn wants to split 3 ways and swing by...??

Now to talk to my boss...

AP

EDIT: Anyone flying in on Thurs? In case I can only get one day off...

Heavy, wet, sticky snow here in Kansas - can I come RIGHT NOW????

Oh wait, I have to work to pay for this; scratch the above thought.

$100 deposit paid already and the rest due when we get there?

I heard about the snow. We had 80F and sun at the track.

Yes, you can pay Monty the balance when you leave.

I woke up to frakkin snow on the ground this morning.

Let me look into flights and see if I can get something cheap. Likely into LAX just because of price.

I won't need a bike as I'm not planning to do any cycle, just running in the sun and lounging a bit. Gotta bring up my vitamin D.

My other option is a trip to Tucson that same weekend so it will come down to $$. I'll do my research and let you know today.

Check Virgin America - they had some good fares into LAX.
