I know it's a silly question, but what are some options for carrying your phone while riding? With the value of iphone's nowadays, you don't want to just cram it in among the tools, co2, etc... and I was just looking for some different ideas. Thanks.

This.
Not many options. Sometimes I have an extra pocket with a zipper.

Well, the only phone I own is in the house so carrying it with me wouldn't do any good, although portable, it just doesn't have that much range.
But, in the olden days when I had a cell phone (haven't had one for 3 years and counting), a jersey pocket worked just fine. I've seen others put it in a zip lock bag first, then into a jersey pocket so it is protected against sweat and rain.

Radio pockets in bib shorts,,,
If yours don't have these getting a pactch of lycra / mesh sewn in to make one is a smart add on.....
Leave the jersey pockets clear for gas, tube and food..

Ziploc bag in the jersey pocket.

I got a small Timbuk2 phone wallet ~ zips half-open to get phone in/out, one clear vinyl face so phone is still somewhat usable inside if you don't wanna go through the bother of taking it out, and has a couple small slots on the back side for ID, emergency cash/bank card, etc. Still small enough to slip in a jersey pocket. It's not waterproof but resistant enough to light rain/sweat, and also provides a little scuff protection against keys or tools if they're tossed in a bag together (though not any heavy padding if I were to crash land on it).

That, or sometimes one of those running armbands but I often find I either have to cinch it too tight on my arm, or have to adjust it frequently. So usually the ziploc/jersey pocket option.

or

i have the 2012 version of the mission with a zipper which i think is more secure than the velcro flappy thing.
be sure to measure your phone carefully and include a case or external battery in the dimensions. my external battery case makes it too big to fit.

Lately been putting it on top of my right thigh tucked under my bib shorts. Has the added benefit of being quickly viewed thru the thin Lycra. Also, if I get caught in a rain storm, I'll move it to the back of my thigh tucked in the bid shorts so it doesn't get wet.

Or, you can get one of these: http://flipbelt.com/ Way less dorky than the usual bento box or fanny pack. There's even a DIY version somewhere on the net if you want to save a few bucks.

"Nature's pocket".
OK, maybe not.
I have the LifeProof case for my iPhone, so I sprung for their bike clip thingie to go with it.
Attached to the aerobar, so it's on an angle, under my arm.
Prior to that, ziplock bag in back jersey pocket always worked just fine. Can't beat the price.

Otter box in the jersey pocket. Survives rain, sweat, scratches etc. Hell I even got hit once, landed on my back and was still able to call my girlfriend from the hospital!

I call it the "cyclists wallet". Cell phone, credit card, maybe a $20 and an ID in case of emergency. All in a ziplock baggie in the jersey pocket.

I usually put it in a Profile bento at the stem. However, always close the flap securely. I had to buy a new phone a few weeks ago because I forgot that part... and hit a big bump at speed. Sigh...
