I paid £49 to fill up my VW Passat Estate (60l), can't see anyone outside of UK topping that one! A victory I could do without!

Reality check....

The USA is far cheaper than the rest of the world. Canada is still relatively cheap in comparison to Europe. We are at $3.25 US / gallon

You may need to sell that powermeter to pay for your next tank of fuel.

Methinks that's why he's so eager to get his hands on an R2.5 - over the long haul, it's much cheaper!

Can you think of anything that costs less per gallon than a gallon of gasoline (in the US)?

Bottled water even comes pretty close!

Personally, I believe if your car doesn't get more than 30 mpg, then you forfeit your right to complain about the price.

P.S. What kind of car has a 19 gallon or larger tank? That's huge!

just paid $2.45 a gallon at the station on the end of my street. Luckily I don't have to drive to work so I can stretch it far. This is just the beginning for those in SoCal. Gas prices keep going up, interested rates keep going up. Pretty soon those people that are in those variable rate no principal mortgages so that they could afford to buy a house won't be able to afford to keep them and there will be foreclosures left right and center. Then I'll be ready to buy ;-)

What powermeter, Adie? Khai is spot on, ride everywhere which is more feasible and safer here in the UK.

I think I'm paying about SFR 1.40 a liter here, that's like $1.20/liter of your play money. That's about $4.5 a gallon.

I think you should stop complaining ;-).

Lets not go there, but if it is $5 a gallon US I don't care. I live in Aloha land home of the pretty close to $3 a gal gas now. My wife and split one car. Walk or ride to work (5 blocks) and have a three year old 25 mpg car with under 10 k miles. That is the lifestyle we choose to live. Maybe some day people will wake up in America and figure out that other people in the world see us gluttons, because we are. If you drive a tank, don't complain about a war baby, we need the oil.
Screw all the 50% of the American fleet that are pickup trucks and SUVs. Got to pay to play, Game on. G

It's a small increase but I am more than happy to hand the mantle over to you. That is until someone in London posts their prices!

South Africa has just hit over R5/litre of diesel - shock, horror!!! It gets a bit expensive filling up an 80litre double cab.

That would be dirt cheap to you guys. 1$=R6.

You got me beat.

1 litre 1995 Ford Fiesta, dont know the size of the tank but I am paying £0.87-0.89 / l at the moment locally although I have seen it much higher. Its costs £30.00 to fill the tank give or take.

I got it for less at ASDA at Chandlers Ford last Friday.

It does'nt bother me, I dont think about it. I need to drive, I have a car that gets good mileage poor performance so I fill it when its empty. What am I going to do? stop driving.

It will be interesting to see what happens if prices keep going up in the US.

I've got (a) London petrol prices (b) an Audi with a 90 litre tank that only takes superunleaded at 87p/litre (minimum!) and gives high fuel consumption around town (< 17mpg) . Just under £80 (USD152) to fill it up, and it takes ages. :-(

I think it's awesome. I hope it continues to get more expensive. I hope fewer and fewer people drive their cars. I hope more people use alternate modes of transportation. I hope those that choose to continue to drive 10 mpg cars go bankrupt.

Amazing that Americans complain about the price of gasoline. No wonder people hate us.
