I'm on my 3rd beer. After 5, I'd probably hit Welch.

Beers had thus far:

Lefthand Brewing Nitro Milk Stout

Breckinridge Autumn Ale

Working on a Crooked Tree IPA...which is freakin' awesome.

I've really liked seeing the Kona Inspired features too... it's awesome to hear the successes of people who are fighting hard for their health while following a dream. As an age-grouper fighting auto-immune disease I empathize with their struggles, even if I don't know the extent of their fight.

I know no one cares...Dad died from pancreatic cancer; lasted 9 months. That feature was awesome.
I care. I was surprised no ne has yet had the balls to slam the "useless human interest stories" from Kona inspired. I know it irks everyone with the NBC show, but I'm one of those former couch potatoes who got inspired myself. <p>Sorry for your loss. Cancer sucks. Pancreatic sucks a golf ball through garden hose, sucks.

I'll tell you all right now, my seat is too low, I'm not aero and I carry too much fluid on the bike.

Part of the difference here is that this essentially is a 17-hour broadcast...NBC's is 90-120 minutes as a rule...

No to you, drsteve, but if that lead isn't 9' off the bike, I'd be surprised. That's a lot of ground.

Guess we'll find out - at some point - how much that bike took out of everyone. Stay tuned. :)

I can't see Macca coming out and saying "I didn't feel great, I couldn't keep up and I knew I couldn't win so I quit"...

Obviously there's more important things going on today than Macca DNFing but I'm still eager to hear his story...

According to his agent, he had a flat which was the last straw

Like I said, it wasn't his fault, he had a mechanical.

Didn't he just release a book "I'm here to quit"?

That is some really good stuff...

Ditched the beer, though, and am now snorking down a 6th Sense Syrah. Very, very nice, especially considering its price.

I should say, I did get in a 7 mile run and a 20 mile bike today...
