Just so everyone knows, my intent was not to get the community to self-report on these issues. I am only trying to get a sense of the "average" (or Median) STer who is active (or passive/trolling) on ST. There are plenty of postings about bikes, shoes, socks, wetsuits, etc. Who is ST? Maybe it would be better served in a ST poll, as has been suggested...but this would be good demographics info to have...and I am curious, though not invested in the results...

It's more fun this way...

married-- yes - 13 years next week!
kids--yes - 4
household income- I didn't vote for Obama
rides a cervelo--2008 P2C
Wears Asics -- No - NB 1223 / 1224
uses Zipps-- Haven't bought any myself, but was able to borrow them for my big races last year
areo helmet-- No
probably a wheelcover--No
definitely powermeter--No
possibly powercranks--No c
compression socks--No
torn between one piece or two depending on length of race-- Torn perhaps, but haven't bought the one piece (unless you count the speedsuit)
does flipturns--Never
shaves legs usually--Weekly
thinning hair-- Fortunately not, but starting to get a lot of gray

Hmmm.....that's either $250K+ because he promised to increase your taxes or $40K+ because you believe he's going to raise your taxes anyway. ; ^ )

rides a cervelo - Nope. Too expensive.
wears Asics - used to, but I'm doing better in Saucony now
Compression socks - sometimes.
torn between one piece or two depending on length of race - never considered a one piece. They look gay (unless on a woman).
Uses Zipps - Nope. See #1.
Probably a wheelcover - hmmm....I forgot to put that on at my last race. I forgot I had it.
definitely powermeter - See #1.
possibly powercranks - See #1
does flipturns - Yes, but not very well.
shaves legs usually - see #4.

Age - 35
Income - more than most of my friends, but they mostly either work in bookstores, museums, music stores, or homes for runways, so it isn't saying much.....oh, and they aren't triathletes. I make less money than my 5 triathlete friends. ; ^ )

"type-A,"

I seriously doubt it. At least hope not since Type A behaviour is recognized as a personality disorder. I don't why everybody on ST seems to think they're a Type A just because they do triathlons as a hobby. Does this describe any of you?:

Type A individuals can be described as impatient, excessively time-conscious, insecure about their status, highly competitive, hostile and aggressive, and incapable of relaxation. They are often high achieving workaholics who multi-task, drive themselves with deadlines, and are unhappy about the smallest of delays. Because of these characteristics, Type A individuals are often described as "stress junkies."

Type A behavior is expressed in three major symptoms. One of these symptoms is believed to be covert and therefore less observable, whereas the other two are more overt.
Symptoms of Type A Behavior
  1. An intrinsic insecurity or insufficient level of self-esteem, which is considered to be the root cause of the syndrome. This is believed to be covert and therefore less observable.
  2. Time urgency and impatience, which causes irritation and exasperation.
  3. Free floating hostility, which can be triggered by even minor incidents.

People on ST still make jokes about the internet superhighway.

What retard can't do a flip turn? It's like somersaulting...only it's in the water where you can't get hurt. That criterion is about as good as "drives an automobile."
