I just measured it, 11cm drop (101cm from the floor to the saddle, 90cm from the floor to the top of the arm pads). What is the drop on your road bike?

If I take out the 4.5cm of spacers, it leaves you with a 15.5cm drop. Ouch.

" I thought you were a college student??"

Yes I am... a very lucky college student who's parents pay for his tuition. I would not have such nice bikes if I was working/loaning my way through school. I am very lucky.

"Are those the aluminum Oval one piece bars? Did you switch out the arm rest with the Profile Designs? I saw the A7?0 set-up the other day and liked them, but the arm rests were weak at best. "

Yes, they are the Oval A700 aluminum bars. I did swap the arm rests for the Profile F-19's. It worked alright, but limited my adjustment, due to the odd bolt pattern on the Profile arm rest. The stock A700 pads were very short fore/aft. This causes your upper body weight to be resting on a very small section of your arm (think surface area and weight distribution). They were very uncomfortable after only about 10 minutes. The Profile arm rests were much better. I have found the Vision Techs to be about equal in comfort.

1. NYSlim's Lotus.

2. Tai's P3sl.

Here's my contributions: The spacers on the Kuota stop my knees hitting my chest!

No way a bike with less than 15cm of drop can be crowned hottest.

Then my 12.7cm drop will disqualify my Kuota, that and my congenital spondylitis. This clearly is a contest for students with perfect and flexible backs. I shall delete my post.

Where's the love?

Your chainring might be able to make up for the spacers. :)

102 floor-to-saddle (making very sure my seat isn't too high) and 90 from the top of the bar to the floor, 80 from the top of the drop to the floor... I suppose that just emphasises how low the front end of a P3C is when compared to a Soloist.

I retract any implied comment about your position - if it's FIST then I certainly can't say anything about it. That's just a mighty big stack of spacers. Even a 10 degree stem faced up wouldn't take out more than maybe 2.5 cm of those spacers. Which would, of course, add to the coolness factor by some miniscule amount.

Still, all things considered, it's a mighty pretty bike.

The roark

the kuata (wow, so nice)

=================

No axe to grind, Caleb. I was explaining why I can't get any lower and am envious of your good health. Nothing more ;-)

As for the chainring, they are bespoke from mdt here in England. (www.mdt-products.com).

This is an old pic...I now have S-bends with white tape and Ritchey WCS compact cranks...but this is still my race rig. The drop is 11cm, though the angle of this quick snap makes it look less. I've since gotten it to almost 12 by removing the spacers on the Hed armrests. Svetlana may not be the newest kid on the block...but she's still damn sexy.

Dude, you got 1 foot of spacers but a negative rise stem, WTF??

Flip the stem and cut off half the spacers.

The stem only has a rise of 10 deg., by flipping it, I don't think I can cut down 2 spacers..

Nope, I was suposed to race at GFT couple weeks back. My car accident and broken ribs took that out of the picture. I do not have a Softride together right now as I have my Rocket R1 and a Record kit to the marine via TSR. Next spring I will have the FasTT and the P3 to play with. I am thinking HARD about a new Litespeed also - then there is Elite, David is a great guy and I would love to ride one of his bikes for a season or two. I am thinking that working with David and a fitter I may be able to get off the bike and run a whole lot better than I have been in the past.

This is my TT ride. Since this photo was takin in May, I have:

- ditched the Profile bars and installed HED S-bend Clip-lites
- gotten a Zipp 404 tubular front, and have a Zipp disc on the way (will be here Monday)

I will try to post a new photo of it with the Zipps once the disc arrives.

I race duathlons and like it.
