Nice bike. The Talon never got any respect around here but it really must have been ahead of its time. What is it, five years old now? Look at it compared to some of the latest hot bikes.

PS. You need a new fork. That old Kestrel is way to heavy at about 600g with dubious aerodynamic properties.

Um, every bike you posted a picture of, including the Talon, is made by Martec. So it's probably not just you.

Fellows, this is the clear winner in my book. Pegoretti frame, Record kit, ADA wheels, Dugast tires, Brooks saddle - how do you top that? The only thing that could be better is a silver stem and clean white bar tape.

you cannot even put those chinese molded bikes in the same ballpark as that pegoretti. those things are not even in the same zip code of cool/hot. for God's sake people.

putting a kuota, or P3C in the same PARKING lot as that pegoretti would be like parking a gsxr 750 with a freaking blue windscreen or a dime-a-dozen cbr600rr next to a bevel drive 900SS ducati in the courtyard at Siebken's outside of road america during superbike weekend. the crowd would boo and hiss and mutter low threats under it collective breath until you got that blight outta there, and rightly so.


last time - molded chinese plastic rules you out of any legitimate hot bike competition. all the more so if it is the bike-flavour-of-the-month like either of the two boring bikes noted above. show some imagination, or failing that at least some pride. sheesh.

I know. The bike is way cool. The wheels are fantastic. And I have a new Brooks sitting in my parts box that I bought just because. It's the mixing of the parts that off. Kinda like low rider jeans and thongs are cool. Humphrey Bogart is cool. Humphrey wearing a thong and low riders, not cool.

Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a reasonable modern campy with some aftermarket upgrades. The vintage of the bike is pretty current.

it is a freaking brooks cutaway ! either a swallow or a swift, probably Ti. it is not one with springs, or even a b-17. a swallow or swift is always good to go. nothing cooler, it could be well argued.

and, if the years of the parts are off so much the better.

i mean, what is the competition so far ?? a kestrel, a chinese quintana roo - the p3c or kuota ?? i do not whether to laugh, cry, or fall asleep over that 'contest'. i mean come ON now.
