Congrats to The Jonnyo and all his staff (paulo + the orange shirt). I am very happy that good guys finish well you feel like they really enjoy what they do even with all the pressure. Rappstar had a great race too at that distance.

Anyways, just wanted to congratulate them for a well executed race. The RR will be a blast!!!

peace

He's not that good of a coach!!!
Have you ever seen him swim? Holy crap...
[/black][/reply]

yeah yeah but Dave wasn't any better than paulo is right now and paulo made him a 1:03 IM swimmer in like 6 months... couldn't he do that to himself? I mean all the "band" work? I would pay some cash to see him do that! Now he is also doing a smackdown with Dave at SOMA. But back to IM Canada thread:-) (i dont mean to highjack)

T-racer should make a celebrity appearance back in Ottawa for the Canadian Half Iron distance. She can take that 4:32 down to 4:22 on our bullet fast course. Funny you mentioned exactly my experience with Paulo. I had a very pleasurable time in the time we got to hang with each other in Kona, which was far from what I expected based on our interactions on this forum :-).

I know it will be killing me in October watching Jonnyo and Rappstar on Ironmanlive in Kona knowing I passed up a rolldown slot at Ironman LP. It would have also been an opportunity to hang out with Paulo so that he can tell me in person how messed up I am :-).

I think she would love to come back to Ottawa to race in front of her family and friends. And after watching today's race, I think she may have the Penticton bug, too. Like the great jonnyo, she is only focused on one race right now and not thinking about any races beyond October 13th.

Did that guy just start to seizure after he finished? They cut away pretty quick after he went down....It was right about 9:48 on the clock if that time is even right.

That's awesome. Hallie never showed up yesterday so I didn't get the chance to meet her - but Monica was a little worried about her 6 week taper... Looks like it worked out pretty well!

Congrats to Jonathan and Jordan. What a great way to represent slowtwitch.

That of course goes also for all the other slowtwitchers who raced.

Thanks Khai.
It was cool to see Jonnyo kicking ass out there. I ran past him when he had about 3 miles to go. It was pretty obvious he was going to take 2nd as he was pretty far behind Doe and the next guy was fairly far behind him.
Lots of wind on the backside of the bike today. Started right after Richter Pass and didn't let up all the way back to T2. Around Keremeos and up to Yellow Lake were particularly gusty with a few rain showers. I personally found my limits today. I had predicted I would go 13 hours, and well, as you pointed out, I went a bit better than that, and even had time to do a pop-and-lock and a moonwalk through the finish chute. Headed back for the midnight finishers soon! I'm pretty shredded!

Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback. This was all put together very quickly and on-the-fly on race day, and much of the credit needs to go to the great Paula Newby-Fraser and NA Spprts Media Coordinator Helen Manning they were the two people who really pulled this together. Huddle, Lovato and I just stood around and ad libbed about triathlon - something we each to a lot of each day. Thanks also to Peter Reid and Jasper Blake, two good friends and great athletes who helped out a great deal and really made the show interesting.
