I did get that bike under 13 lbs and it was a blast to ride. Yes the carbon spiderless chainring worked with the bike being a fixed gear but of course I have to use the front brake.

I'll play along. Here is my new Trek Speed Concept the night I brought her home. Since this picture was taken, I've added the Bontrager Speed Box and a Speedfil downtube hydration system. Race wheels will come later.

Nice bike!

Flip the stem, lose the spacers!

Smart to not post a pic with the speedfil - don't wanna be eaten alive, eh? ;)

I was thinking about doing that. Since I am new to the aero position, I was going to get used to the position before going more aggressive. But thanks for the advise.

But whats the taboo with the Speedfil???

Advice was only half serious-if it fits like this, don't change it.

Speedfil is not aero, and more drink than you *likely* need are the driving forces, I believe.

Nice looking bike.

I like the 'butterfly' logo at the top of the seat tube. Where did you get that?

Also, it is hard to tell from the pic, but if the big chainring on that bike is round (looks like it is, rotor does make them), the front derailleur needs to be lowered a lot to get optimal front shifting performance.

Butterfly logo is from Betty Designs, she has one of the custom Betty Design ISM seat as well, you can't see it but it has the same logo on the saddle. I still have to tweek the bike a little bit for her, need to lengthen the chain a bit and yes she is running the Rotor round rings, she was using Rotor Q-Rings before. Yes, you are right, the front derailleur needs to be lowered a tad, it is still set up for the Q-Rings. Good eye, thanks.

Not race wheels, those don't have tires this time of year ;)

A pie plate is never acceptable. Even on training wheels.

well the wheel has never been ridden and is to be sold. That is how they come stock. cassette, tire now off and pie plate is removed for sale of wheel next weekend. You noticed the valve cap did you not, you didn't comment on that! ;)

Like I am going to take the time to remove something when I am never going to use the item.

Heck, I haven't even adjusted the rear brake to 23mm rime width use or adjusted drop out screws for wheel placement.

Too late. Your bike has been shamed and is now and forever on the internets in it's full pie plated glory...

From today on, I'll remember you as jeffp and the "p" will stand for pieplate.

From the look of your quads in your profile pic, I'm not sure I'd even see the PP blowing by me... The bike looks much better all dressed up in it's race wheels BTW.
