My ancient rig. 10 Year old Cervelo Eyre Road. It's so old that that I regularly get asked if it is a new Cervelo model. This was Cervelo's first serious attemp at a road bike and is obviously the grandfather of the current line of Soloist bikes. I am hoping to turn this into the beater off-season bike this year after I get a new Cervelo R3.

I was thinking the same thing, but after awhile they all look the same, they look like a generic bike anymore. Don't get me wrong, I like Cervelo's, but after awhile the same paint and tires all look the same. This is more them likely true with most bikes but it does get a little old after awhile. I think there needs to be more color options or custom paint work, then that would be cool...

For the bike course? Its always from north or south (generally) so 2 times head wind 2 times tail wind. Wind is not a big deal I love it, it is the pot holes you should worry.

Yes - I second that. I launched a bottle, out of a cage from my frame, on LSD (that would be the drive, not the drug, stoners.) Never had that happen before. Had to dodge a ton of stuff on the course from other's cages/bentos whatever. Wind wasn't a big factor last year, slight head, slight tail.

Greg,

Thanks for the nice comments. Actually, all I did was go to a place that makes decals and bought a couple foot piece of decal material and made it myself. Then I went to an auto shop and bought pin-stripping tape to outline the design. It worked out pretty well and only cost me about $20. I did the same thing to my helmet too.

jim, i think you might 'train harder...and race even faster' if you got your saddle level. your saddle as it is now is just not right.

and if it doesn't feel right to you when it's level, that nearly always means you should lower your seat. (and knowing how tall you are, that seat looks way too high for you.) just 2 cents from my fitting experience.

Greg,

Yes, I posted last year on how to add an extension on the rear of the helmet and showed the decaling, you can search the posts under my name to see them I think. I still have the instructions to send if anyone is still interested, of course you need to make sure that the organization that you run is will allow this as most do not (mine does).

Boy, there are a lot of great bike pics showing up here. It would be really hard to decide what bike to get if I did not already have one after seeing them all here on this post.

the bar mount and straw are from another hydration system. the extended tubing is from the local hardware store. yeah i know....it isn't food grade. then i just popped the nipple out of the bottle. a piece of tube with an OD just a touch smaller than the nipple hole keeps it pretty snug there. i also worked up tubing to draw from both bottles. so for long training rides from home i can have the two frame mounted, and the Jetstream, and who needs Dairy Mart along the way?

now if i could just get the angle right to everyone's satisfaction.

Train hard...race well.

You better have it all right if you think you're gonna show people up...

Your disc is dirty, give that thing a bath.

Your floor has crumbs on it. Don't eat cookies while taking photos.

Your couch cushions are crooked.

You have eight feet of spacers sticking out of the top of your stem.

Your bar tape isn't equal lengths.

The second picture is crooked.

YOUR SEAT'S TOO HIGH.

Mike,

Thanks for the tip. Perhaps I should get a move on quicker to make the trade up to this Cervelo R3 SL( see below). This was my loaner from the good folks at Edge Cyclery in Laguna Hills CA a short while ago. Thank you to Mary-Ann and Hank.

Hi,

It's not my place, actually. Just a rental in Busselton. You are right about the disk and I have since taken care of the tape. The fork is getting cut down now.

It was a pretty good experience though I did it before the automation/database with the electronic fitting - and before those new paint jobs were ready. I was going for a P3C and then I tried a Guru that didn't fit me at all but the power transfer was incredible. There's just something about the way it rides. I tried a closer fit Guru and a P3C back to back several times and decided the Guru was what I wanted.

Just picked it up last week, spent a good bit of time today switching out the components. I bought the package bike because that's the only way to get the gray/black/white color scheme.

I still have to put on the race wheels, white saddle, white bar tape, and compact cranks to finish the makeover.

Not quite Pjorn yet - more like still wearing a bikini - but almost there!!! Just got it built up and had to give its maiden ride of 50 miles, 4,500 feet of climbing, and a some time in the bars.

Seat isn't quite right (though not too high!!!), aero bars are close to dead-on, way too much cable sticking out (to be trimmed this week), still waiting for the FSA crank, no hydration yet (put regular cages on for the ride, but took 'em off afterwards) and its not sunny. Trees aren't green yet (hey - its 8,000 feet in early April!). But she rides really nice. Not as snappy as the road bike, but still darn stiff.

Cant wait till she's all done!!

i pieced that together with parts from a couple systems and some plastic tubing. its works quite well. probably the hardest thing to come up with is the pinch valve for the mouthpiece. i can also run it with a two bottle set up. the tubing for that was a bit more difficult to fabricate but it works

The build looks great. I do agree with the stickers coming off. I think it would clean up the look of the build for sure. Once that is done, you could take your forks off the build and in an afternoon get rid of the stickers on that. All it would leave is the stickers on the frame itself but it would sure clean up things.

For the forks, take them into your spare tub if you have one with some 600, 800 and 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper and fill the tub up enough to cover the forks sideways.

Start with the 600g sandpaper to cut through the surface of the clearcoat on the forks, once you are through that and start to sand off the stickers/lettering switch over to the 800g. Once the writing is off, sand that surface with the 1000g and the rest of the forks. You need to sand the rest of the forks to create mini scratches for the new clear coat to stick too. Head to the local automotive store and buy a can of clearcoat. Do not cheap out and get the good stuff.

Spray outside on a nice clear day and do a light sanding once dried in the tub with the water again. Dry if off and spray a few more times doing it the same way. After about three times with the clear, all you have to do is buff it up and life is good. I remember reading somewhere that to take the gloss off all you have to do is take some steel wool to the fork. I am not sure about the last step to make them flat but someone will know how.

I have done this process with forks in the past and will be doing this to a few pairs of cranks in the next little while on my 12.80 road build above and another bike to get rid of the FSA stickers on the cranks.

It is a fun project is you have the patience to do it. If you do not then the next best way to do it is send it too Brent at Rue Sports in Arizona. Brent makes high end carbon bikes and did the forks on the road build above for me as I did not have the time to do it this time around and did it for a good price. I figure my time was worth more than he charged so life is good.

Everyone puts way too many stickers on their products and I just take them all off when they are not covered by clear coat. Every sticker on my wheels have been taken off or are in the process of coming off. I think that the RENN 575 stickers will be the tough one.

However it gives the bike that spring classics Euro roadie look! :) This is the training mode set up. Steve! Come on! You know better.

You leave me no choice...

1. Chain is in the small chainring. HUGE ST no no.

2. Cranks aren't parallel to the ground.

3. SPACERS? We don't need no stinking spacers around here. Get your wife a bike that fits!

4. Q rings? If anyone notices those, this is going to turn into a 40 page debate on whether or not they work!

5. Not in race trim.

All of the above are obviously jokes and you know that I don't care.
Out of curiousity, was there a reason you called MissP's bike to my attention? It's a beauty for sure. I'm just wondering if this is in reference to a conversation we had or something.

Nate,

My apologies. You were last post on the thread.

You should know me by know that all those details are rather insignificant with me. Where the clock stops is what's important. I will say that this bike has flirted with the 5:00 barrier in an IM a couple of times! :)

The Q-rings are interesting. MissP was given a set to try. As good as a cyclist as she is, she has always had a bit of hiccup in her pedal stroke right at the dead-spot at 12:00. We put the Q-rings on and the hiccup went away and really smoothed things out. Will they make her faster? Hard to say. Pedal stroke is smoother and looks more efficient. Will have to wait and see how the racing goes. She's set to do a ITT next week then it's onto IM Lanzarote!

Here is the TTX 9.9 in it's current Project One paint job. This will be changed out to a different scheme after Moo this year. I wish I would have made the blue black instead. Oh well :) It has since been upgraded with Sram Red and ditched the behind the seat cages.

Next is the road training ride. 2005 Trek Madone Aero It is a former tour ridden frame. It too has been upgraded but this time with Bontrager Aeolus 5.0 full carbon wheels. This is the last year for this ride. I am upgrading to the '09 Madone after Moo.

Here is my off road training ride. It is a Trek Top fuel with the full carbon rear. It wont get that much use this year for fear of injury and jeopradizing Moo. Since this pic, the fork has been upgraded to a Fox F100 RLC in white.

Ya, I know, shoulda gone all Campy, but it might not have worked out that way anyway. She has a franken-gruppo: front derailleur IS actually Campy, rear derailleur and brakes are Shimano Ultegra, and the rings are FSA and Shimano with Ergomo cranks. Damn tiny frame!

The Pedal Force road build is the new RS2 frame in a medium. Weight on the frame is 965g and not 960g as published but close enough for me. I had the bike out on Sunday for an hour and a half working out the first ride bugs. I needed to adjust the derailleurs a bit which I did while riding but overall the build is great. The bike is stable on descents, climbs by itself and it you can get it up to speed in no time. The frame is stiff where it needs to be and I forgot how nice carbon is to ride after 8 years on aluminum.

The only thing that was a bit hard (on my ass) to get used to was the carbon saddle. I had the nose tilted up a bit too much so when I got home, I made a quick adjustment and life is a little better. It sure helps to have very good shorts. I think 2-2.5 hours on the carbon saddle will be about the max but I have other bikes to go longer on.

My updated arsenal for 2008...

My 07 P2C updated for 2008, with Easton Attack TT bars, Sram TT shifters & brake levers & Force Rear Der, Nokon cables, Sram Red 53/39 crankset. Old stuff includes DA brakes & cassette, Zipp 606 tubulars, SLR t1 saddle, Time RXS titan carbon pedals. A hair over 16 lbs as shown, raced it on Sunday and it felt amazing, the Easton bars with the CeeGee pad upgrade was comfy & it felt sooooo fast.

The SLC-SL, ditched the Ksyrium ES in favor of the lighter & remarkably stiffer Hed Ardennes wheelset, it now comes in a hair under 15 lbs as shown in everyday-ride mode.

And my winter/trainer/commute bike, an '06 Cannondale Six13 Dura Ace frame with a parts-bin build spec. This is before they revamped the Six13 frames so its got the carbon in the seat tube as well, whereas Six13s these days only have carbon in the the top & down tubes. Its a very very smooth-riding bike. Adding an S-works carbon post shortly to smooth it out even more for commuting.

I am always impressed with how clean the bikes are on ST. The bikes at Casa Fleck are never that clean. Hard to keep up. MissP rides in anything, rain, snow, sleet, wind ( She's a tough one) and the roads around here are aweful - mud, sand, dirt, cracked and potholed pavement even the odd gravel/dirt road etc . . . Try as I might the only time that bikes are that clean is when they come out of the box from the manufacturer!

My uncle was doing Ironman and Ultra's in the 80's. I was very young, but I can remember my family going up to their house in Wisconsin for the weekend, and he would show up there late at night on a bike. I learned later that he was riding from his apartment in Chicago to the Wisconsin house for training, which was hard for me to conceive at the time. He passed away after a brief battle with cancer soon after giving me this bike. I'm determined to do at least one IM in his memory on it.
She's one of the more cush bikes I've ever ridden. Drivetrain and cockpit are original as far as I know, and she's about to get new bar tape. The wear marks are where I've taken off some corrosion and put on clear coat. I dig the splatter purple/gray and matching pump. Classic. When I race her I'm going to have to wear Speedo's and Oakley's for sure.

Yeah...but that one didn't have 1,001 horsepower and a top speed of 253 mph!

It probably approached this one's $1.5 million pricetag, though, when loaded down with all those k's!

No committment to Lake Placid in 2009. If I can get through 2008, that will be LP#9. I might want to take a break from LP before trying #10...with a new direct Lufthansa flight from Ottawa to Frankfurt, it makes Ironman Germany or Roth much more convenient than previously. I might want to offer up a family to Europe before my son gets too old that hanging around his dad is of zero interest...whether it does or does not include an Ironman is not an issue.

Here it is -- I've been meaning to post these since... oh, May 1 according to the watch. I'd also be interested to see how the other Polar Power users have their cockpit set up. In order to get mine up near the gear shifters I just molded a small piece of wood, wrapped it in black tape, drilled a hole in it, and used some ties to secure it down between the aero bars. No troubles thus far, and the watch is located conveniently at my finger tips.

Nice job, but how much time do you waste in T2 undoing it to put it on your wrist for the run? It would be good if someone did a HRM that viewed from the side of the wrist like the timex watch. That would work when aero as well as for the run.

TT bike, the carbon stayed bike was my original bike, but I had terrible problems with it flexing when I sprint. So I used that excuse to build the Team SL, which I use as my "race only" bike. The last one is a cross bike.

So my stable isn't that iutrageous considering I race tri's, tt's crits and cross.

I still need a track bike, a backup cross bike, a mountain bike......

I spent quite a bit of time making them myself, actually. I scanned in the original from a comic book and then re-painted it in photoshop so that it would look decent enlarged. (I think the giro helmet I added was a nice touch) After I sized the image accordingly I sent it away to a print shop. 30 bucks later they gave me a big lamenated sticker/decal. After that it was simply a matter of tediously cutting it out and slapping it on the wheel cover.

The frame is a Pedal Force RS2 that I picked up when they did their group buy a while back. The frame was $450 and weighs in at 965g. The forks are Easton EC90 SLX that I had stripped and clear coated to match the frame. I love how the bike rides and it climbs like no tomorrow. It helps that the bike weighs in at 12.89 lbs as pictured.

Just curious - do you go faster with the disk while on the trainer? ;-)

Actually,

I really do want to know if the disk goes whoomp whoomp whoomp on the trainer like it does on the road. I hear that sound a lot as most people with disk wheels pass me pretty early on the bike.

its not a disc wheel, just a disc cover from wheelbuilder. And no, it doesnt make rocket noise unless you are really pushing it and going about 30 mph on a flat. It sounds kind of like a car passing you at regular speeds. I"ve never ridden it on a trainer.

GREAT and very fast!

Have you ever seen anyone admit doing a $7000 mistake? if that was the case, Newton buyers would have lined up.

The suitcase, I figured I'd get more flack for the yellow seat! I rode from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo - 290ish miles... I needed tools. We had a SAG wagon, but he'd skip ahead alot of the time, so I needed tools with me. Oh, and did you notice the license plate below the suitcase!!! Thanks for the smack talk! As for the Slice - WOW. I really like it, I mean so far. Only done maybe 30 miles on it. I'll be riding about 60 miles tomorrow and I'll have a better idea of how it feels. It is fast though. The only thing I have to compare it to so far is the Synapse, with 50mm wheels. I've done 4 races on the Synapse and it's good for going up hills but in a straight line, flat road situation, I get eaten up by the Felts, and Argon18s, and well everything, with discs and deep fronts. It sucks, so I figured I'd get a proper bike. That way when I get passed I'll have to say it's because I'm slow, not the bike!

I'll reply further after I get some more ride time on the Slice.

The bike came with the saddle on it, and I decided to give it a couple of rides to see if I could take a regular seat and/or if the pain was all in my head... Yeah, not a mental thing at all - very real pain. The current saddle is being replaced promptly. I'm trying to decide between the Adamo and a Selle SMP. Also I'm trying to decide if I want the Zero G brakes on the Slice or Synapse, currently on Synapse. I have a set of carbon Cannondale brakes that will be here tomorrow that would look good on either. Not sure if the Zero Gs are good for Carbon wheels - too strong???

Aspide composite is more comfortable than numerous other saddles I have tried. I rode 105 miles two weeks ago w/o any issues on this bike. I rode Mount Mitchell on my road bike (also 105 miles) this Monday and my crotch was much worse for wear using a traditional road saddle. It props you up just where you want it to and less numbness in the aero position. Plus it makes for a heck of a conversation topic in the transition area! I am thinking of trying it on my road bike!

Good point. Let me rephase that. I used to have numbness more frequently on a soft saddle in aero position necessitating moving around a bit from time to time. Now, I RARELY experience that even when in aero bars for extended periods. Almost never on road bike, just the torn up taint! I have had fittings from an experienced level 1 coach as well as from owner of LBS. What worked for you?

I used to use a san marco era k on my tt bike, but it tore up the left side of my taint when I'd get dropped on the hammerhead wednesday night rides. Now I rock the adamo race, and it roughly divides the amount of carnage b/n the right and left side.

I don't think there's a "comfortable" saddle out there, just ones that moves around the pain to acceptable places. My lazyboy gets uncomfortable after ~3 hours, so what hope does a 2 inch strip of "leather" on my sit bones have?

I haven't had numbness problems for a long time, and only on cheap saddles I got from performance.

I just finished it minutes ago. I am going on a ride into the mountains as soon as I finish this post. This is my bike for Ironman Germany 70.3 (nothing but climbing).

Cervelo Team Soloist (black, 51)
Campy Chorus components (compact with a 26 in the back with a medium cage)
Zipp handlebars and stem
Zipp 404s (not shown)

With the 404s on, the calculated wieght is suppose to be 15.3 pounds. I will see how close the actual weight will be.

Those Campy rims were extremely difficult to get tires on. I finally gave up and took it to my LBS. It took them 4 hours to install the tires including two new tubes. It only cost me $5 each tire which I thought was well worth it. Now I am trying to get some tires onto the 404s (tubulars), which also seems difficult.

Here are my titanium twins, sorry if pics are a bit large. I made the mistake of telling my wife a titanium bike was forever. Subsequently I have not bought a new road bike for about 7 years now, on the plus side when my house was broken into they did not take them. Every now and then I want to sell them both and buy a carbon soloist but have not had the heart to do it as these two ride so well. Both bikes have gone through about 3 sets of wheels each (even broke a set of cranks on the QR) but the frames still look (and ride) as good as new. I have put a new set of stickers on the Merlin but have never been able to find any for the Quintana Roo. The graphics QR use now are terrible. I still have fun buying new components here are there, recently bought the new tubeless shimano wheels for the Merlin and they are fantastic.

Pimped up vintage steel. 1976 or so Main D'Or, made by Kessels in Belgium, who built some of the bikes Merckx rode in early Tour victories. Has been my faithful companion for over 20 years; first with old Campy stuff, then a repaint, then the shift to Shimano and FSA, then the transformation into an occasional sprint tri bike, which is what you see here. A mix of old and new: Flashpoint 60 and wheelbuilder aero cover + vintage Zipp 440 tubular up front, profile seat slammed forward, Oval clip ons, etc. After a short tri season, all the aero stuff comes off, the spacers get put back in, and it reverts to its (somewhat) original form, a road bike. I don't do anything longer than an Oly, so this set-up works great for me. It's devoured its fair share of Cervelos the last two years.

My new Ceepo Venom race bike. It's very light, rides great on rough roads, stiff when you crank on the pedals, and really fast. The aero frame tubes are super thin and the rear wheel is fully enclosed and the wheel gap is tight to maximize the aerodynamics. And, it may not look like it in this photo, but the seat angle is 77 deg., and you can further adjust this by sliding the seat on the rails.

They are heavy, I think around 1400 grams but almost bullet proof. Very stiff I dont notice any flex at all while cornering. I got it for $575.00 new so for that price it's a good wheel, not sure I'd pay the $975.00 XLab was asking!

no wonder people think our softrides are ugly. that thing is quite the eyesore. i bet it helps you get away with drafting in a race b/c the officials probably lose focus once they get up next to that thing. i recommend cutting off the excess beam behind the seat and try adding more black b/c all that silver/chrome is overwhelming.

Is your front wheel backwards? If you don't mind me asking, why did you decide on the Beyond wheels? How do you like them? Has there been any evidence on the benefit of the pointy bulges in the rim? Just wondering. Thanks.

Yes - did a quick change to my race wheels for the photo -> mounted the front wheel backward. Bought these wheels from Jim in Kona just after the race in 2006 - seemed to be OK wheels at a very good price (800$ for the set).

The wheels feels very fast (have done my fastest races with them), OK weight, fine for climbing and high speed decents, stiff and reasonably compliant, and are decent to handle in crosswinds. Have not had any need to adjust the spokes (16front/20back). I see no reason to get any other wheels - except a less deep front wheel for Kona's brutal cross-winds.

The same rim is used by other - Macca used an "Edge" back wheel with same rim in 2007.

Have not seen any scientific data. Had a few words with Jim at Kona this year - we think the bulges are a clever way to get the benefits of Zipp/Hed's patent without breaking the patent rules.

The front wheel had a poor bearing, changed after 2 years and < 1000 miles. Jim offered to send new bearings free of charge, but I upgraded to ceramic instead.

Not nearly as nice as just about everybike on here and it's been collecting dust while the roadie has been in comission over winter.
But I am proud to say that including the wheels this bike was built for about $900 Aus thats about $500 US at the moment so it's a bit of a bargain, and it's been faultless so far including my first IM. I think the fact that it fits me perfectly is the best this about it.

Here's the Roadie in it's current form and it's not a real Ferrari I just wanted one so I put a sticker on a frame I picked up in Singapore for another bargain.
Like the above bike the Groupo is a real bitza affair but it all works well so thats the main thing, she's a trusty stead indeed.

There are a couple of others too, but these are the 2 in use at the current.

Cheers

Love that bike... but you can have the rear brake cable (the one that sticks out of the down tube) trimmed so it won't be so looong, and look cleaner and probably more aero.

One of the many things on my "TO DO" list this off season is to re-cable the whole bike. And that being one of the main reasons and also because the cables that come out of the top tube run over the base bar instead of under, it looks messy (not pictured)

Thanks

Go Nokon's if you can. It will give you a tighter bend under the BB area and keep the housing as close to the BB as possible.

It will also give you a tighter bend at the rear derailleur so it is not so big back there as well.

well i wear white shoes sometimes too!

i don't find the dirt issue that big a deal. i've had another pair of white tires (sides only obviously)...you give 'em a
wipe down every now and then and they stay pretty good. white bar tape gets dirty too, but i like the look of them and
i'm willing to deal with it. i suppose if i was ocd about dirt on my tires, i would skip the white ones.

it's all brightness and sunshine which serves as the balance to my black/grey soulless TT bike.

The S=Works comes with two seatposts. The one pictured and then the one you are referring to. I have a shorter torso and longer legs - so this setup fits me better. I should also note than during the pre-fitting I was in between a medium size fram and a large. On the medium it fit better with the setback seta tube - the large the straight tube.

The Mavic Stickers are to cover the red stickers from the manufactorer. My idea was that I didn't want to have any other color but black, white and yellow. That was the reason I repainted the sram deraillieur and the shifters.

Those cranks are FSA Energy compact cranks. They were going real cheap on Ebay and the total weight is almost the same as a DA 7800 crankset+BB.

I believe I saw this frame from a discount online shop recently for $279 if memory serves.

Not as nice as a lot of bikes out there but the parts are all top of the line. Still have to add A K force carbon stem and Profile carbon wing and aero bars. Wheels are FP60's with decals taken off. Paint on wall is the result of having a recyleable can lid an spacle bucket lid laying around and nothing to do at 12 A.M.

The bike you see, that I bought, was used by Rob Woestenborghs, duathlon world champion 08. I really recommend this paint scheme ...color is white pearl ... looks really impressive. I have another to sell, size M (55,5 cm, complete with microtech aerobars, Sram Force Carbon w/o wheels) I like the Basso equal to my Felt. It's more simple, extremely reliable and robust. I'm a bit disappointed with the Felt tough. The bayonet system is scraching the side of the frame. It's a defect but for that range of price, shouldn't be !

Here she is for the winter with a Bontrager select rear training wheel. I'll be on the market come February for a used Powertap wired wheel.

And yes, I live in a dorm room, have not yet cut my steerer tube, and my seat (while not too high) is probably pretty well worn and on its last legs.

Here's something a little different....

It started life as a green LeMond Reynolds 853 bike with all black components. Hated seeing the name LeMond 11 places on my bike everytime I went for a ride, so I stripped it down and painted it in my workshop. Then decided to switch everything over to silver, which was a lot of fun, and now it kind of reminds me of my old Bridgestone RB-1 (dead-on geometry). Fast, but with a little sense of style. Sorry about the quality (or lack thereof) of the picture - there's 10" of snow on the ground, and I decided just to snap a few before a spin session.

Old school carbon fiber. Some guy named Scott rode this bike to 2nd place in the 1994 Ironman. I wanted a 650 carbon bike with dual bottle bosses, a 50cm TT and a 13.5 HT and could not find anything in the market that fit the bill. Yeah its not aero, but it fits perfectly, is pretty light (17 lbs), climbs like a dream and is super comfy - even more so than my steel Serotta CXII which i found surprising. I know 650s are out of favor but I think they still have a place on smaller frames like this one. Enjoy.

No this is not Dave Scott's '94 and '96 Ironman bike. I just had this bike built by Craig Calfee's company Calfee Design. Craig built Dave's '94 bike under his old label "Carbonframes". I actually had a Carbonframes Tetra Tri bike back in 1995 after watching Dave's '94 performance but got hit by a car on it which broke it in half. Ive had many bikes since then but always remembered my old Carbonframes as a great machine which is why my brother and I each decided to get another bike built by Craig. Sorry to disappoint.

My road ride

My Budget TT/Tri bike. Built this up using parts in the garage and a spare frame. Total cost to build it was $250 since I already have everything for the most part. Maybe with my tax return I can pick up a Cervelo P2SL frame to hang these parts on. Was a fun build to do over the last month.

Its a nice ride. I've always liked Bianchis and my local shop/sponsor found this one for me. This is actually the frame that was at Interbike. There's only a handful in the US. Either you like them or you don't I guess. I've built many a bike, you get a good feel for the quality of a frame when you build it, this one is top notch... very well put together.

We have a few bianchis ;)

Your stars and bars are too high, plus you can't wear a helmet on a bike painted like the flag, you've got to hold it over your heart with your right hand while riding. Didn't they cover that in your high school civics class?

After several years on a Cervelo, I decided to try something different. I just got her yesterday so the fit will be a work in progress. I hope to get a ride in on her soon, work permitting.

Don't you slide off the front of that thing? I'd need monkey arms to hang onto that.

Ya mine is a 2005 , got the frame spring 07 new /unbuilt.The Oval bars are great,Zipp ski tip /Oval carbon stem. The frame is solid and I feel is very competitive with todays frames.I like the simple graphics and nude carbon.

You can come home to Rooworld anytime:-) I'am sure your new rig will serve you well.

Did you do the carbon on the back Hed 3? I was thinking about doing something similar to a Corima 4 spoke if I could find someone with the know how to.

Is the Specialized Transition becoming the new Cervelo P2C/P3C? Seems like an awful lot of them are popping up on ST now. Might give the Cervelo mafia a run for their money?

Here it is, my new Kuota Kueen-K. I just picked this up last week at Trisports and took it on it's first real ride Friday, the Mt. Lemmon ride during Trifest. It is awesome! I'm coming off of a '08 P2C and I just can't believe how much better this bike feels. Wicked stiff, but incredibly comfortable even after spending nearly six hours in the saddle on Friday, I was ready for more. After riding again yesterday on some more familiar routes, I'm convinced this is a superior machine. Can't wait to ride again. If you're interested in Kuota definitely PM me.

I know it's not in the right gearing, but I was too excited not to share my new ride. It was bought from and built by STer stal. I'm always impressed by the people in the triathlon community.

Negative. It's just a Caliente. I am not CD0.1 worthy.
