yep, lucy was one of my very first thoughts here. lots of big sponsorships - she's doing well before the gun goes.

likewise ryf has bahrain, mercedes, red bull . . . doing well there.

I would bet at a $200k base salary that he would be in the top five of triathletes quite easily. Plus whatever Pinarello flows him for riding their bike in triathlons, and other sponsorships. (Which is certainly not as much as Canyon pays Frodeno, or what Whoop pays Lionel based on mentions, but not zero.)

otherwise frodeno manged to get an article in the biggest online newspaper in germany couple of hours after ibiza an not a single word of the female winner or any other german triathlete.
at the end of the day it will be the pro that has most investments into companies and jan and brownlee have a few of those i believe.
i forgot there was a russian ogliarch that was looking for a live in coach a couple of years ago so i guess also in the running.

I agree YouTube on its own cannot bring in that many $$$. It think the money in YouTube and other social media is exposure for sponsor products. More klicks on YouTube and Insta = more money from and more sponsors interested in you sponsoring their product. I cannot believe Eric Largerstrom is on a Specialised contract for any other reason than the TTL channel exposure. He does not get that much exposure in races, but his overall media exposure wrapped along with Paula makes it worthwhile. Likewise the Ari Klau couple.com sponsorship always makes me chuckle - no way he would get that sponsorship without being on YouTube. I bet Sanders gets much better deals from sponsors because of his YouTube channel.

I usually look at the logos on the tri suit. Some of them only has a couple like Ryzon, Oakley, BMC. Blu doesn't have many either like 5 or 6 including Texaco, Redbull, Cadex...etc. I noticed Ben Kanute has a lot!! I was wondering which one is better having a lot of small and fairly big sponsors or having a couple of huge companies paying big bucks.

I'd agree with this, ask a random Brit in the street to name a triathlete and there is a good chance they would know the Brownlees, I doubt anyone without at least a passing interest in the sport could name any long distance triathletes from anywhere in the world. They are (were?) sponsored by Volvo, Aldi supermarket and - the big one for us in the UK... Yorkshire Tea.
