Not my place to tell an elite athlete what they should do, but if he truly has 13:20 5k potential (this was mentioned earlier in this thread) and wants to compete at a world-class level, it would seem running is his mostly likely sport. 13:20 won't put you on the podium in most 5k races against a world-class field unless it's one of those "tactical" races, but it gets you pretty close.

If he'd rather do triathlon though, I hope he sticks with it and does well!

Decently well known in the draft legal community. Like Nate said, James was named Developmental coach of the year by USAT last year. He's Justin Lippert's coach, if that rings a bell, coached him to a ridiculous number of National Championships and to Kona. He does coach age groupers, but he's very very picky. You have to be near elite level and have pro license aspirations to be coached by him essentially. Plus, one of his longest standing athletes, Emma Langley, just placed second for women at Unbound Gravel (used to be a triathlete, is now a decently good U-30 pro cyclist), so he knows his shit and his methods work.
