Weight 4/1/2019 190 Decided even though I no longer split my pants, I should get in better shape. Started run/walking


Current Weight 172 Currently training for first triathlon. Was supposed to be June 2020, will now be June 2021

Dexa says I'm 145 non fat mass, I'm guessing I will settle in around 160-165, but I don't know how this story will end. I'm just going to keep training and see how it goes.

That's very impressive. Keep up the work. I'm 10 years younger and a couple inches taller and have pretty much stayed around 160 plus or minus 10 lbs forever. Typically if I get injured or lazy I'll keep eating the same and gain 10 lbs in a week or so...

Yesterday:
-Breakfast: coffee/bagel
-Swim 4300 yds, run 5k at tempo pace
-Smoothie, couple granola bars
-Lunch: grilled cheese sandwich
-30 mile mountain bike
-Large salad
-Half chicken/bacon pizza, stopped eating because I wanted ice cream
-Large bowl of ice cream, definitely overfull after

7am-32 minute Vasa workout. All out intervals and threshold intervals

6pm-Celery sticks w/ 1/2 cup hummus

1 bowl pasta with sauce and Gardein meatless meatballs
1 serving sauteed green beans
1 bowl kale salad
1/4 cup blueberries

I got hungry just reading that list!

I have a lake less than 10 minutes away, so getting out to swim is easy, although the first few weeks of corona I was a bit demotivated and didn't go.

Yesterday:
Swim 3300 yds, 1 hour strength workout
Breakfast: Coffee/bagel
Lunch: Leftover pizza
Snacks: trailmix and a couple granola bars
Dinner: Salad and Ice Cream

4 mile run then 30 mins weights in the garden
Eggs on toast with mackeral and cottage cheese
Fruit + yoghurt and a few pieces of chocolate

Chicken + rice with salad

Weights in the garden? I'm probably picturing something different than what you actually did.

Yesterday:
-1 hour trail run, 30 minutes swim and core strength
-Breakfast: Bagel and coffee
Smoothie, some granola bars and trail mix
-Lunch: Grilled cheese sandwich
-72 mile bike with 22k Strava TT effort, couple bottles of Nuun and a Lara bar
-Dinner: Large salad, 1/2 loaf of garlic cheesy bread, a little bit of ice cream
-Couple IPA's

Plan was to enjoy the beer last night to refuel after the long ride. Without it, I was really light (171) this am, so I figured I was still glycogen depleted from the ride yesterday, hence the preworkout Gatorade.

10 mile ride pulling the kid in a trailer down the canal path
Lunch: Two PB&Js, two apples
17 mile loop ride with rolling hills
4 mile ez run off the bike
Post workout: protein shake
Dinner: Three hotdogs, corn salsa and two beers

I eat the same thing for breakfast/lunch for the last ten years then eat whatever the hell I want for dinner . Doesn’t work for everyone, works for me.

2 packages of pretzels
1 package of Gummy Bears
1 Svenhard's cinnamon danish

Dinner:

1 large order of McDonald's fries
1 smoothy with dark chocolate Silk, whey protein power base, cocoa powder, and lots of ice
1 bowl of oatmeal with sliced almonds, raisins, brown sugar, and flax seed meal
2 bottles of Crystal Geyser sparkling water
2 big glasses of water

Yesterday:

Meat pie with eggs
Fruit, yoghurt, nuts
Beef stir fry and salad
Fruit + yoghurt

I'm basically eating the same and doing slightly less exercise than I was before the lockdown - weight unchanged.

But my big race for this year was a 250 mile, 8 day run which was meant to start next Sunday - I'm on a whatsap group with some of them and they're wanting to do the race virtually - so starting from Sunday I will be doing long runs every day - and I'm pretty sure my food intake will increase substantially as well.
