My suggestion is has nothing to do with equipment, but you should take cold showers between now and race day.... the colder the showers the better. Just take your morning and evening showers ice cold. It will prepare your body for dealing with the initial shock. Ideally you'd do this for a couple weeks, but a couple days is better than nothing. I did this before my last cold water swim and it made a big difference in terms of how I dealt with the cold.
