Longest non-answer.

Pretty sure it was answered straight forward

OK, I guess the shorter answer is, "They all all carbon bikes from Taiwan with differnt paint jobs and similar components.....I'll take any of them since they are basically soul-less pseudo clones of each other"

Except your ass will be happier after 2100 miles on a Madone than any of the other brands. Got to love some vertical compliance, which my old Columbus SLX frame never had.

Direct Energie's Wilier or EF Education First-Drapac Cannondale. Trek Madone is pretty sweet also.

Pinarello Dogma F10... Close second would be the Bianchi XR4. TT bike would have to be the BMC TimeMachine.

I'd argue that over the history of cycling there has never been more variety in design or componentry than now. Or pain jobs.

At one points bikes were just small variations on lugged Reynolds steel tubes. Carbon layup introduced vast avenues of creativity.

It seems like we have two clear winners for both bikes, and brands.

Time Trial Bike:

Winner:
Pinarello Bolide

Runner-Up:
Trek Speed Concept

Roadie:

Winner:
Trek Madone

Runner-Up:
Pinarello Dogma

Honorable Mention:

Soul-less pseudo clones

I just wish the Bolide was actually available in some capacity (and not absurdly priced). I've only ever seen one in the flesh. I think what they do with the downtube is wonderfully practical for triathlon.

What are people's thoughts on the Colnago k-one for triathlon? Sure would look nice in the garage next to a C64.....

I think it's a practical design and well intentioned (heck, probably performs well too) but, if you're going to design around a water bottle, you might as well design around a round water bottle.

You are indeed correct, but at one point we had steel, carbon, Ti, Al...now it's all carbon (but within carbon as you point out there is style/feature variation)....perhaps what I am getting at is that all these bikes are so awesome (even though they lack the soul of say a Litespeed Ultimate or an original Kestrel 4000 Mark Allen 1991 Nice edition), that I will take anyone of them. In some ways there are all evolutionary upgrades of what Mark Allen road based on the orginal carbon innovators in Santa Cruz CA!

Personally, I like AG2R La Mondiale's Factor One. Not sure about the Slick TT, but I've been eyeballing Factor bikes for awhile now. Maybe someday....

Crushing materialistic dreams, Dev--shame on you ;)

I've just gone out and bought a S-Works Tarmac disc frameset so now all is balanced in the world.
