I think these babies’s are more for the TT crowd not the tri crowd.
And Blackwell/John Cobb has a set almost like them but with flat wings over the drop wings. It will be intrusting to see what they cost.

i think they look ugly.

p.s - i think my aerobars look better, and they're lighter, and more adjustable, and for $2500 they came with a cervelo attached to them.

I read on the oval website that they have tried getting them built in china, but were having trouble, but think that in 12 to 16 months they might have a cheaper version wieghing about 150 gram more.

Why so much concern over who buys these and why they do so?
I guess we should just gather all the bikes in transition after the race and redistribute them based on order of finish (and size, of course, we'd take the time to make sure that people actually FIT on the bikes.) The fastest people get the coolest and most expensive bikes. All the slow people will get the crap. And while we're at it, we'll remove all the spacers from all the "improperly" set up cool bikes and stick them on the crap bikes. No one averaging under 23mph will be allowed to keep discs, 808s, 404s, H3s, Lightweights, Cosmic Carbones or any other cool and expensive gear. No one averaging under 20mph will be allowed to keep ANY piece of carbon (not including the rear seat stays or forks).
What an F'n hoot that would be, don't you think? Sooner or later none of these g'damn unworthy slow f'ks would be riding cool expensive bikes. Sounds like a plan to me!
Of course what would the gear police have to pick on then?

no big concern on my part. people should be able to get hot bikes (if they can still feed and educate the kids, and maybe contribute to a cause or two that makes the world a better place?).
but to me, a $ 2,500.00 handlebar seems a bit crazy even on Lance's bike.
i mean, what's next? a $ 40,000.00 frameset?
Where would you want to swim ?
What was the price of the BMC time trial frameset? I heard it was somewhere in the $10,000 range for just the frame because it was built with the Easton Nanotube technology.
I remember watching OLN and one of the announcers said that the Phonak squad were riding $25,000 bikes in the TTT. That's like a quarter million dollars rolling down the tarmac.
