Worked Thursday and got 40 mins on the trainer and 30 min weights. Today 1:10 swim, 2:40 run. Tomorrow we travel for the big family gathering and an insane amount of food. I will, I will, restrain myself.

Did a 75 minute indoor ride on the Cyclops Thanksgiving morning before devoting the rest of the day to my wife and family. Woke up this morning and did a two-hour ride/run brick. Turkey, apple pie, ambrosia, and oh yeah...red wine.

Ran about 10 on the coast of Santa Barbara - MUCH nicer than Chicago - sat on the runway for 2 hours getting de-iced on the way out.

Spinervals 13.0 (Tough Love) on the indoor trainer. What a blast. Screw gorging on food, I was ready to slit my wrists afterwards...I don't know how some people ride indoors this long day in and day out.

I also earned the bird, went out for a fast 4 mile run, set an adult PR (='s post HS - which was 20 yrs ago, we actually just had our reunion** on Fri nite, but I digress...) on a rolling hilly road course of 26:09.

Which included getting stopped and asked for directions, so I figger that had to cost me say, 9 or 10 seconds.... ; )

Very pleased with that, and on running only 2 days / week of late to boot.

** funny story from the reunion, my buddy was the captain of the XC and track teams our senior yr, but he's gained like 80 lbs (no joke) since then. And he's 5'8"

Our coach was there, and my buddy told me how "Coach D." came to his father's wake earlier this year, and his first words were of course condolences about his father.

The very next thing he said was, "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!?!???????" ; )
