I'm big on TV episodes on DVD, myself - especially CSI (any) or Law & Order (any). Set up the player to "Play All" and let it roll. Good for about 3 hours per disc.

Oh, and to combat the need to crank the sound, turn on the English captions. (Also works well when I'm watching TV late at night and don't want to wake the people in the apartment above me. Thin walls)

I you want to go the caption route this is always fun ... put on Univision or TeleMundo with the captions in English, then listen to Surf music ... it's almost as much fun as putting on "Dark Side of the Moon" and watching "Wizard of Oz"
