Now if only it were possible to locate one of these Cervelos... Anyone actually seen a R2.5 Carbon in-person? Um, and if so, where (and what sizes do they have)?

Just FYI, I have been following their court case here in Canada and there wasn another article on that topic in yesterday which probably didn't make it down to you. These two US soldiers applied for refugee status based on the claim the war in Iraq was illegal. Of course it is everybody's right to apply for refugee status, but it is up to the Canadian government to determine if that is a just request. All signs indicate that there is no way in hell these claims will be honored. There is no refusal to hand them over, in fact it is all but guaranteed they will be handed over as soon as the proceedings are done. The judge even went so far as demanding that the defense support their claim before the proceedings even get underway, and he is said to likely toss out the illegal war claim from the outset.

Not trying to sway your decision as you should do whatever you feel like and it's no skin off my back, though it is funny that you would boycott one of the very few bike companies still manufacturing in the USA. But I thought you might want some info on the case since it obviously interests you.

We have been shipping the improved version of the R2.5 for a few weeks now and in significant quantities. So you should be able to find one, or order one and get it within 4 weeks of ordering.

But it's correct that he'll be aboard a Cervelo this coming season, right? I thought I read that on Cyclingnews or somewhere. I was surprised how little attention that got from the cross forums, I think a lot of people missed it, or I misread it altogether and just dreamed you guys were putting together a cross bike.

New program, sponsors for Page


American cyclo-cross specialist Jonathan Page has changed sponsors for 2004/2005, and as result has also tailored his racing and training program to focus entirely on the next 'cross season. Page will race in the summer months for the Polish Hoop-CCC-Polsat team's mountain bike squad, as well as joining the road team for selected events in Belgium.

Page was recruited by Hoop-CCC-Polsat to offer the team more exposure in the MTB World Cup and a Polish MTB series. The move suits Page well, as he has decided not to pursue too much road racing in order to arrive in ideal condition for the 2004-5 'cross season. Continuing his work with Mario de Clercq as coach, Page will train extensively on the road nonetheless, and hopes for a strong performance at the USPRO events in June.

Page has also teamed up with Cervelo, Mavic, and Adidas as primary sponsors for his next cyclo-cross season. Cervelo reportedly plans to create a signature series carbon 'cross frame for Page for the coming year.

Actually it did escape me. Never seen it before, is this recent? It surely didn't come from me. And Jonathan is not racing for CCC-Polsat.
