So I got an email today inviting me to early registration for the 2021 IRONMAN Arizona race, as an IRONMAN VC participant. So I figured I'd check the course, see if it was something I wanted to do as my first. The swim and run courses are normal length (2.4mi and 26.2mi, respectively), but the bike course is listed as only 74.4 miles and insanely technical (I mean ITU-type technical). The 2019 course is shown on the "interactive map" tab, and shows what I'd consider a "normal" 112 mile out and back-style course.

This can't be right, can it? Less the 3/4 the distance for a long course race, plus all the turns. Seems very odd...
