Considering how man triathlons he has done, it is not hard to understand where the confusion comes from. He probably thought he was doing a tri, running towards T1. When he saw the bike, old habits made him jump on and start pedaling.
OH MAN! I have been following the thread closely on LR hoping someone would find a picture of him getting out of a car or something. This is it, the headstone on the Meza grave. The coffin has been nailed shut for some time, but this is it.
Might as well cover Frank in butter & jelly, because that dude is toast "What's your claim?" - Ben Gravy "Your best work is the work you're excited about" - Rick Rubin
That's good, but it could be any old dude. Is there a pic of him running as well, in the same or similar outfit?
Also, someone please critique his bike fit
Yes. There are official races photos of Frank wearing the same bright green socks, same looking shoes, same looking hat, and a grey shirt tied around his waist.
^_^ "Meza told the Times in June that the scrutiny was taking its toll. βMy take on all this, it was supposed to be fun. Obviously itβs not fun anymore.β Karma is a bitch.
Sportswriters #1: Sitting at an ill-fitting desk [either too small, that your legs don't quite fit under; or too big, so the top is mid-chest level] with a squeaky & wobbly chair, banging out copy on an old manual typewriter which is constantly in need of repair - low on ribbon, wrinkled paper, keys that stick, etc. The assignments are of the lowest cub-reported sort: under-6 year-old town T-Ball tournaments, Pinewood Derby races, kite-flying marathons. Everything submitted is rejected for revisions; which are also rejected
Sportswriters #2: An endless loop on SportsCenter of headlines where the score is flipped, winners announced prematurely, trades that didn't happen, and all the mocking that goes with such an error

Yeah, it probably was a lot of fun cheating the system and getting away with it. It's not so much fun after getting caught... Swimming Workout of the Day:
I can see a a sportscenter type panel of five guys, simultaneously arguing and gesturing violently with no sound coming out of their mouths. ________ It doesn't really matter what Phil is saying, the music of his voice is the appropriate soundtrack for a bicycle race. HTupolev

There are so many smoking guns on this thing we now have an entire arsenal of them.
Just as in the past people would say someone "pulled a Rosie Ruiz", in the future the saying is going to be "pulled a Meza". He always hoped to achieve immortality, it just won't be quite in the way he envisioned.
