I would normally have a pro do this but I am updating an old den or study for Kids play room. Long term plan is this will eventually become part of the kitchen. So I am trying to do this on a small budget. Plus I kind of want to try it.
My dilemma , I removed an old recessed light fixture. The fixture fit snugly in between the joist and was framed in on both ends. I had trouble getting the drywall close to flush with the ceiling and ended up framing the opening to hold the piece. One corner kept coming up shallow. Not sure what I screwed up but I thought when I put up the framing it looked good put now that the opening is closed that corner is a good quarter in or so deep.
Looking through videos and such on line it seems I should tape it as is and start adding mud making sure to get some behind the tape ? It almost seems like it would be better to build that corner up with some thin coats. I feel like taping it up as is and trying to go over it will just lead to more problems ?
"I think I've cracked the code. double letters are cheaters except for perfect squares (a, d, i, p and y). So Leddy isn't a cheater... "
