They should try doing that in a physics or calculus class if they really mean it.

Interesting. I'm a college prof. If a student emailed me and said they were experiencing significant emotional turmoil and wanted to take the test a different day, I'd most likely let them. If a bunch of them pulled this stunt, I'd be quite unsympathetic, as they're affecting so many other students. Calling it white supremacy is bullshit.
Real emotional turmoil or the BS they were citing?
real. Death of a family member, that sort of thing.

Somehow I doubt even in an ethics study class they were taught when something goes on in your life you don't want to deal with blame whitey so you can get out of it.

Plus, they might as well disrupt the kids who did study and actually wanted to take the test, who are apparently privileged too. I hope the underprivileged fail.
I'd love to hear a recording of the conversations that got them from "I'm not prepared for this test" to "it's because of racism, so we need to protest".

You’re wrong.
This is exactly what the college taught them to do. Where do you think they got these ideas about privilege and “students of color”?
Where do you think they got the notion they are deserving of special treatment?
This is a perfect rendition of what this school set out to produce.
They just never thought their product would be turned inward.

You are looking at future Ca. government employees. They will fit right in and we will pay them a 6 figure income.

How does Berkely CS stay in the top 10 programs in the world? Visiting this past summer, it is like two campus in one.

I'm disturbed by the number of college girls I see at the gym wearing spandex work out clothes with a mom's jeans design. It's just not a good look for anyone.

I ask myself this a lot. Living and hiring in the Bay Area for 20 years, I have about a 10-20% success rate will Cal Engineering grads. By success, I mean we haven't let them go within the 1st year. We mostly hire straight out of school. Stanford, UC Davis, and Cal Poly are all north of 90%. It's weird.

This seems to have been put in the playbook now. If you remember the Evergreen students, one of their demands was extra ti.e for coursework and tests because they were busy protesting.
This is yet another example of people attacking someone who is mostly an ally. You aren't going to get very far if you can't stop going after your friends.
I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

Since the Prof called them "right wing" demonstrators, they probably thought he was talking about the adults taking the test.

I can't imagine that this video was shot at the Engineering school of UC Berkeley. This type of behaviour is typically associated with arts courses typically named Womyns Studies, Herstory, Gender Studies, A Fair and Unbiased Discourse on Why White Men Are Evil, etc. Engineering schools - at least the one's I've been to - tend to be less snowflakey.
Also - if the success rates are so starkly different, why would you ever hire another Cal Eng. grad?
Remember - It's important to be comfortable in your own skin... because it turns out society frowns on wearing other people's

Agreed that this isn't Engineering and less likely to happen.
I've worked with and hired some great Cal Engineers, so I wouldn't toss out the whole group. It's also the closest University, and with Bay Area housing, it's sometimes tough to find people that can afford to live here.
We've gotten much better at screening out during the interview, and that has brought the percentage way up.

Just the disconnect. The engineering school has been highly rated since I was in college. Met with the CS dept last summer since my son is considering applying and was pretty impressed. Yet seems like everything else associated with Berkeley is like a different world. I would have thought there would some influence either way.
