...wasn't my fault but I feel bad about it since I'm such a dog lover. On our last group ride, fortunately on an uphill grade on a rural area road so we weren't at high speeds.
Out of nowhere two young beautiful chocolate lab retreivers (I'm also a lab owner) come running out on the road and one of them decides to stop in right front of me. I anticipated the possibility and was already on my brakes but had nowhere to go except into his rear end. Tried to swerve but couldn't get completely out of his way. The dog let out a little yelp and I wobbled and nearly toppled but held the bike upright. No damage done to me or the dog. I was just grateful we weren't on the steep downhill on the other side of the hill when this happened
The owner called the dogs and apologized to me and said he was going to get an electric force fence to train the dogs to stay off the road.
Just one of those things that can happen. People, be careful out there.
