wow. you've got stones posting that picture. in your defense, it was a backwards race, so, theoretically, you should have had the helmet on backwards (and ridden the course in reverse, and run backwards, and swam the backstroke)

It is funny, but I don't think the helmet gives as much protection when you wear it like that. Thanks for the humor.

That's a great picture, thanks for sharing. No joke, I saw a woman riding like that in a 1/2IM last summer (in that same race I saw a guy talking on his cell while race). But how did you not notice when you were putting it on? I guess you've got some serious focus going on!

Anyone who might have passed him during the bike leg would have been in to big of a hurry to bother mentioning it and the people he was passing had to have been far to embarassed about the fact that they just got passed by a goofy guy wearing his helmet backwards to mention to him that his helmet was on backwards!

Last year I was just getting started on a training ride at the park, I noticed a guy riding a K-mart/Walmart level sport comfort bike finishing up a lap with his kids on the traffic loop. He and his kids were having a balst and he was grinning from ear to ear but I couldn't help notice that his helmet was on backwards and mentioned it to him. He looked at his kids - who all started looking off in different directions - and said, "I thought you said this was the correct way to wear this helmet!" I could not help but feel like the janitor in Frazz as his kids burst out laughing while I showed the dad how to properly wear the helmet!

I'm actually coming to the conclusion that not only does it look kinda cool, It makes a person look like a knight or something, but I'm wondering if it's not more aero than the other way around? That sharp point splitting the air?

When it is cold here in Houston, while I do not wear it much during rides, I have a bad habbit of wearing my Pearl Izumi fleece vest inside out when we go to places like resturants or the grocery store. This is evidenced by my wife noticing the seams/stictching sticking out all over the place or the inverted/reversed logo on the front - imuzI lraeP.

Never did it with a helment, but I'll admit that the first time I tried on a wetsuit (at the Columbia Tri expo in 1996), I confidently zipped up the zipper in the front(!), and then walked out onto the floor to show the sales guy, just to be sure it fit me well.
