Xer Potato Head has always been ahead of the curve on this issue. You could change the Potato from Male to Female (or some disturbing mix) anytime you chose. In fact, for decades your Potato Head could identify as a half male, half female, eyes on the belly, arms on the butt, leg on the side of the head, mustache wearing, hatted monstrosity.

Affectionately known as Todd.

As much fun as it is to laugh at the fucking idiots who have spent way too much time thinking about what a plastic potato's penis looks like and are upset about this, they are till making Mr. Potato head. They are just changing the brand from "Mr. Potato Head" to "Potato Head". So both "Mrs. Potato Head" and "Mr, Potato Head" are going to be under the "Potato Head" brand instead of the "Mr. Potato Head Brand." Which honestly makes a bit more sense.

So here is what the box will look like:

So it is even dumber to be upset about this than you would guess at first, which is impressive.

It's also dumb for the company to try to claim that this change makes their product, in any meaningful way, more inclusive.

I agree, but they get free advertising from making the news, and they'll probably get some goodwill and warm fuzzies from some people.

Is it mr poh-tay-to or mr potat-o? ;-)

They should make a Professor Potato Head so we can decide whether or not it can call itself Dr. Potato Head.

First they come for Mr Potato Head, next it’ll be Mr Clean. Just you wait.

But don’t think for a second this won’t affect potato sack races around the world. I mean it is *highly* coincidental that this was announced just before the Equality Act hits the Senate floor.

Our son dated a young lady thru his college years. She was the quintessential American success story. Parents immigrated (legally) from Mexico and worked their asses off to put multiple kids thru college---including her. P was such a very nice young lady. Somehow we learned she'd always wanted a Mr Potato Head so we got her one for one Christmas out in Tucson. She cried

Damn I wish our son had married that girl. Oh well. At least she got a Mr Potato Head out of the deal

I don’t think people realize that mr and mar potato head have the same body with just different attachments.

It is generally harder to find one or the other. It seems like this will just be an easier way for them to market the toy and streamline the base into a single packaging.

I am sure there are millions of variations of what you can turn your potato head into.

Man, you just had to stir that pot.

Are we doing the trans in the military thing again? Because I won’t feel safe from terrorists unless Xe’s brothers in arms can see a plastic potato penis on that thing, as God and Hasbro intended.
