In The Spirit of Giving Thanks

I want to make a modest donation to your local food bank. The first three people to post a link to where I can donate to their local food bank have a a donation coming their way. I'm not rich, but it is the least I can do.

Right now, it is being reported, 1/4 Americans are experiencing food insecurity. Link below to RI but I am hearing the same about TX.

RI Food Bank's annual report compares 2020 hunger to Great Depression (providencejournal.com)

Thx

Donation sent to your food bank. Thank you for the direction!

Good on your daughter as well! My girls do Girl Scouts here in Philadelphia and my wife is the troop leader. They do a food drive here at their city elementary school.

Your generous gift will provide nutritious meals this Thanksgiving holiday. We're forever grateful for dedicated friends like you who make our work possible. Together we can solve hunger.

I volunteer five days a week at the Long Beach Rescue Mission (LBRM.org), who works in partnership with Feeding America (feedingamerica.org). Either one will work. Also, if you haven’t already done so, set up your Amazon account so that a small portion of your Amazon smile purchase goes to a charity of your choice.

Gifted

What a blessing it is to have you provide meals, shelter, care and other life-changing services for hungry, homeless people.

With nearly 18,000 meals needing to be served each month and 3,600 nights of safe shelter, your gift to the Long Beach Rescue Mission gives people in need a place to call home; a place where they will be welcomed, cared for and encouraged.

It is also a place where they can begin to solve the problems that brought them here in the first place!

Thank you for partnering with us to make sure people have enough to eat today, and hope for tomorrow.

That is a goal that can only be achieved with your support.

Serving with you,
Robert Probst, Executive Director

P.S. I welcome you to visit our website again at http://www.LBRM.org to learn even more about the services provided here in the greater Long Beach area.

100% of your donations stay in Long Beach to help people in Long Beach.

Great cause.

I volunteer for our local food rescue program. Ride my bike, with a trailer, to the local 7-11's and take their about to be expired food to a couple of homeless shelters. Earlier this year I was taking it to the food bank. The long lines should concern any American.

Sounds like you are a good person. Maybe if you stopped looking at me as the enemy we might learn more from each other's posts. One of my best friends runs a group that rides around bringing food to the homeless.

Donated, that's 3/3 for me! Tagging out.

As an aside, my annual giving always ends up right around the same level but it's driven by people - a different set every year - telling me that they care about something and that they'll vouch for the eficacy of the donation. Most years it's friends doing 5ks. This year part of it is ST. So be it. Food insecurity is a shocking issue for the US to be dealing with in 2020 and this was fun. I hope this thread keeps rolling.

Donated! Sounds like a good group...

An astonishing one in five of our neighbors faces hunger – that’s 750,000 people in the Delaware Valley. Each week, we serve approximately 90,000 of them, a third of whom are children and fifteen percent of whom are seniors. Thanks to your support, we are able to distribute approximately 30 million pounds of food each year through our own food distribution programs and a network of 350 member agencies throughout nine counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For every dollar that you've given, Philabundance will be able to provide two meals to our neighbors.

You've truly made a difference!

Gratefully,

No problem, happy to help out. Had to wait till today for the 3rd as Mustard Seed's payment portal was having errors so had to call in and get manually processed. Another confused person who assumed I was from Victoria, but then had to tell him no, middle of America in St. Louis. I explained the situation and he thought is was a great idea.
