Looks like a lot of carnage in week 1. I'll admit this seems like a particularly hard year to pick the early regular season games with no pre-season to judge where teams are at and the expectation that trajectories could change a lot in early weeks as teams figure themselves out more than they usually need to in the regular season.

Seems like this should have been set up to allow one loss?

I'm kind of curious if people have been knocked out because of some upsets or just making bad picks? Granted, I think week one was very difficult, with no preseason, you were kind of guessing.

'm no football genius, but we only have to pick one game a week. I basically chose what was the consensus most likely win (from sources I consult) each of the first three weeks. Obviously as time goes on this may become more difficult (because you can only pick each team once), but at least early this seems like the obvious strategy and actually probably gets you pretty far.

Looks like I was wrong it shows us all at 3-0 Guess its pick a team that wont lose, not pick a team that will win. LOL

Yes and with a small group not a bad one. Cause its unlikely the league goes deep. But ... if you go deep, you could have issues with that strategy, which is why sometimes you probably need to look at third or fourth options who may have there one shot at winning. That said, way more teams than weeks, so you wont eventually have to pick some teams.... J. E. T. S. Jets or Lions..

The first week knocked out 39%(colts were 21% picked) in the yahoo contest I'm doing. Arizona yesterday was picked by 12%(total week 3 incorrect 27%) so they have lost more than half the entrants in 3 weeks. You have to pick 17 winners to go the distance. There is only 32 teams so you have make some marginable picks to be successful. The point spreads are widely available so its easy if you just want to pick the heaviest favorite. Another strategy would be to pick whoever the Jets are playing lol. Of course they play teams in their division twice so you have pick a few other games and its highly unlikely they go 0-16.

I start out trying to make some risky picks with the end game trying to have easier picks later in the season. Thats why i picked an 0-2 Philadelpia and I took the Browns last week. I am almost always out by week 6 or 7 though so I would have allowed one loss just to keep a few more people in the contest.

Was actually thinking of mapping out my season of picks, and then just tweak it as we go, so I don't run into a bad bye week or something.

What pains me most (as a Patriots fan) is getting done in by the Eagles. I hate the f$%king Eagles, get me some Credence.

Yes I was just going to pick a couple weeks in advance and I went ahead and finished the whole season. Probably change some of them later.

What pains me as a Pats fan is the shit show that the game was yesterday on offense. The D did great to stop Mahomes for 3 quarters but spent way too much time on the field and the O just sputtered big time with both QBs.

3 of us did and the 4th took Seattle. This challenge was pretty close to being over today. I had the Rams in my other pool which was an easy win.

Actually I had the Pats for this week but the game was rescheduled to Sunday. When DavHamm mentioned I needed to pick another winner, there were only 4 games to pick from.

Looks like I was lucky that the pats got rescheduled and I’ll be out this week. Pats playing like shit against the Broncos who’ve been sucking all season.

I originally had the chargers this week but I guess their game got moved and I just jumped on the most picked team of the week which this season is anyone playing the Jets. My other league I had Indy which overcame a 21pts deficit.😅

I took Tampa this week. As of right now I am not picking KC or Seattle in any of my games this season. it’s pretty easy to pick we have a few bad teams going: jets, giants cowboys Washington all are pretty bad so thats four games you can pick from most weeks.

I burned KC in week 1 with no pre-season i went safe.

Any given week you could pick whoever is playing the Bungles.
