So about POTUS' visit to Walter Reed this weekend (Nov 2019)
Anyone else slightly dubious on the explanation of him getting parts of his annual physical exam done early this past weekend?

I mean, his word and the word of his press secretary are always beyond reproach, so we never have reason to doubt when they speak.

And we have been told he had extraordinary stamina and physical strength and is in very good health (but obese).

It could have been as described, but today's Fed Meeting was done in the residence not the Oval Office. Is that weird or unusual? Is there any connection between the location of today's meeting and his hospital visit this weekend?

Or is he just bedridden with depression after the Louisiana governor elections and the significance of some of testimony late last week and scheduled for this week?

Suffer Well.

Are you saying it is odd to do yearly physical in multiple stages and also only 9 months after your previous one? Or that normally Walter Reed is given warning that the president is coming or that normally physicals are announced to the press ahead of time? Or that it is weird that he has not appeared in front of the press since then? Or it is odd to do it in stages and spend a couple hours at Walter Reed.

We can all agree that it is silly that the health of an elderly man, under stress, that refuses to exercise, and eats terribly, could be in anything but excellent health.

Just phase 1 of annual check. too cold to play golf. Would have done it in the residence but....
Wilson, FDR, Kennedy, all were not transparent as to their health status. He can not claim to be the first president to be not forthcoming.

I know they jumped the shark a long time ago, but the headline writes for CNN have reached a new low with this one. They are really trying to show this as a huge upset that was Trump's fault. The reality is that the state re-elected an incumbent governor.

Agree. Dems have given up quite a bit of ground there since the 2015 election when they won handily (56/44). Turnout was 10% higher. Not sure that's a positive sign no matter how you look at it.

Trump going to Walter Reed unannounced is concerning, but time will tell.

It is still a big deal that Democrat won the Governorship in a state trump won by 20 points in 2016. If trump could really energize voters, he should have been able to push the Republican over the line.

In addition, it was move evidence of how quickly southern suburbs are shifting Democrat. It really is surprising how quick that shift is happening. Rural Northern voters shitted Republican to look almost identical to rural Southerners. That shift happened a bit ahead of the shift of the suburbs and metro areas of the South moving to the Democrats. Of the ten states with the highest percentage of their population living in cities or suburbs only 2 are not reliably Democrat. One of them is #6 on that list, Texas. The other is Arizona I believe. Arizona is already a swing state and Texas is fast becoming one.

I must have missed this from the tin foil hat brigade. We need not worry about his hospital visit because he was assassinated earlier this year.

So trump is dead, but they are worried that when the news get out, that is when our ideals would be under attack? That is when our ideals are under attack? Not because the person signing bills is not who was elected, but an actor selected by a cabal? There is no current problem, even though the constitution in not being followed?

This is really an example of trump supporters taken to the extreme, they don't care if this administration follows the constitution and the only part of the Constitution they care about is half of one amendment.

Pretty normal for the WH physician to release a statement on POTUS' health at 8 pm on a Monday evening, right?

My assumption at this point is that every specific statement is a lie- it was not regular, preventative or planned. The denial of chest pains only increases the likelihood of that being the reason for the visit.

All I know is that he better have paid out of pocket for that annual since it was within 12 months of his last one. I couldn't get my physical until mid November now because last year it was in late-October.

And I didn't decide to go bc I had nothing better to do on a Sat afternoon but instead bc it was scheduled for months. And the Dr's office knew I was coming and it was on my office calendar.

And is anyone surprised that he decided to blatantly lie about this too?

On a related note, my lying thief of a brother claimed the deposition he gave the bar's disciplinary counsel was fine. Of course the counts they added to his complaint from the transcript tell a much different story. I feel so blessed to be able to see Trump play out close up in my life. I expected him to tell me it was perfect, I could sense it was on the tip of his tongue, but that opportunity passed him by.

So it was apparently planned, but the Communicator-in-Chief neglected to tell his wife (and apparently the WH communications dept?), who was panicked by media reports that he'd been rushed to hospital for a heart attack. That makes perfect sense.

Makes some sense to me, do you think Melania actually talks to him? Now, I do not think "panicked' was the emotion to describe Melania when she read the reports.

yeah, i'm guessing this is the odds on favorite at this point. Admin catches wind of Sondland's testimony and this is what they came up with. Trump thinks it is a perfect idea as in his mind it will allow him to save face by tweeting "I resigned due to a medial issue" for the rest of his life.

You are assuming that what happened 6 months ago was the first half. I don't think that should be assumed based on the evidence.

He has already flown out multiple times in the past couple weeks, so he can leave the White House.

Had not thought of the validity of the first half. So yeah I guess it could be wrongfully assumed that way. Only saying the boy's health right now is under intense scrutiny most of which of his own making. More curious as to why you resurfaced this thread. Is he actually to go tomorrow?

He has very bad rheumatoid arthritis in many joints, why he stands funny, can't move his neck, lead with his left leg as he walked down the ramp (For those without knee issues it may have looked funny but if you watch he is simply always leading with his left leg, then brings right up along side and steps with left again, a familiar walk on ramps for those with knee issues)

This also explains why he is taking hydroxychlorioquine.

The ramp thing I get. Obviously I don’t understand his need to tell people he ran down the second half of the ramp. If you don’t feel comfortable walking down a ramp, take your time.

The glass of water thing I don’t get. I don’t think I have ever stopped half way up while drinking and then needed to put my bottom hand as a guide.

You will when you are old and are having trouble controlling your limbs.

He’s old. And frail. As much as he tries to seem strong his body is giving us strong hints that he really isn’t in great health.

It was odd, though. He uses his hands a lot while speaking, and those movements seem very controlled. He holds a book up no problem. And walked a "long" distance across that road with apparent ease. He plays golf.

So sometimes he doesn't seem old and frail. Yet has these odd things happen.

I won't speculate why. It's just odd.

a guess --

his meds are being adjusted (by himself or a physician, dosage up or down, sleeping pills, focus pills, whatever is prescribed).

Many of our elders experience this, without the spotlight. A close relative of mine had the shakes so bad she could barely hold a toothbrush, until she detoxed off the Halcyon that had been prescribed for years, and she kept dosing up due to tolerance.

it could be anything -- or this

I am not going to speculate as to what the issue is but the water incident and the ramp were not the actions of someone in perfect health.
