Maybe his mind was messed up before the shooting? Maybe living through a school shooting pushed him over the edge and made him paranoid and delusional.

I don't know, the amount of conspricy theories being pushed about him, like how he was not even there during the shooting or he is just an actor being paid to destroy the 2nd amendment, I wouldn't be surprised.

I mean swatting has killed people before. Would not be shocking if he is counting this as one of the 7.

I am pretty sure that he would count that as an "assassination attempt".

I can't imagine being that age, living through not only the school shooting, but the position he found himself in afterwards and all the attention that brought him.

I'm not sure my 19 year old self would be handling things any better.

I hope he gets help.

Yeah, he chose that, as much as anyone, less a teenager right after experiencing something like he did, could foresee the shit storm that would befall him for doing so.

Clearly he deserves everything he gets.

Lots of other teenagers were at the school that day and chose not to thrust themselves in the spotlight and seek out opportunities to promote themselves and their agendas. He is the one who sent all the tweets and accepted all of the interviews. So yeah, he sought out that exposure.

And thus deserves any negative attention that he gets right?

How dare he try and stop others from going through the same traumatic event! He should do the normal thing and send thoughts and prayers. The gall of this teenager.

Did he sign up for being SWATed? For receiving death threats? He should have known better, I suppose.

So, because he is a child he should be excused from the consequences that every other adult would receive for acting the way he did? He's just a child who was in a bad situation, so let's overlook him when he attacks public figures and institutions the way he did.

I would quickly condemn any action that threatened his safety. But he's the one who put, and kept, himself in the spotlight. If he received negative attention because of the things he said in public - then he has to accept that. He welcomed the exposure when Laura Ingraham talked about him.

He wasn't some innocent kid who was just voicing his fear. He purposely went after the NRA, gun owners and conservative voices. Do you think he should be ignored?

I suspect he's conflating death threats with assassination attempts. As much as I'd prefer people to be more precise and less hyperbolic, this seems to be par for the course today, especially for those in the limelight and who seem to enjoy being in the limelight.

That said, it does seem that there was at least one event that could fall under the "assassination attempt" umbrella. If he and his family were indeed subjects of swatting, I think that counts.

For the most part, I've pretty much discounted much of what these kids have been saying, including the one who has become a conservative sweetheart and who recently made a big deal about Harvard having rescinding his acceptance due to prior racist comments. Despite their passion, they really don't add much to the equation. They're still stupid kids. Let's give them a few years before we starting hating on them.

I'm pretty sure that I didn't condone any actions or threats. Do you seriously believe that there were 7 "assassination attempts" on his life?

I wonder if the same MAGA people that tied a noose around Jussie Smollet's neck are responsible for those"assassination" attempts.

I highly doubt there were 7 credible attempts on his life.

Maybe he believes there were. Maybe he believes that due to what he lived through. I was being serious when I said I hope the kid gets help.

Personally, I don't personally like this kids message or delivery, but, I do find myself empathizing with what his life and perspective must be like right now.

The story I read, that was the only one cited.

Sure he got a lot of negative attention , but I am skeptical that there were 7 attempts on his life.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

I think he is an attention Hogg :)

I don't want any harm to befall him, and I do think he needs help. Maybe it is the cynic in me, but I think this was just another attempt to get attention and to keep himself relevant.

It would be easier for me to be sympathetic if he had behaved differently, but he seemed to relish the negative attention because it gave him a higher profile. The more outrageous he was, the more attention he received.

I mean sure he may be exaggerating, but I think 1 is 1 too many.

It just seems more people are interested in criticizing this kid that is trying to stop the traumatic event he experienced being experienced by other kids and not the people pushing conspiracy theories used to attack him. Just seems people are focusing on the wrong parts of this story.

Plus what really outrageous thing did he say? Did he suggest something so outrageous, like arming teachers?

Yeah, he purposely went after them so that something could finally happen in regards to gun laws so that others don’t have to be victims of school shootings. Not sure what part of that you fail to comprehend

Good for him. He went after the enablers of the reckless gun culture in this country. It is the tiny seeds that turn hundreds into the millions in no time!
