ESPN Picks Chiefs to win SB - Who ya got?
Not much of stretch here to pick KC to win it all,

"Right on the Chiefs' heels are the New Orleans Saints, Patriots and Los Angeles Rams -- the other participants in last season's conference championship games -- with 15, 12 and 12 percent chances, respectively, to hoist the Lombardi trophy before a large drop-off to the rest of the field. In fact, the Patriots have a slightly better win total projection and higher chances to win their division and reach the playoffs than the Chiefs, thanks to a much easier schedule."

I hate the Pack, I hate Rodgers too, but the Pack are going to win it all because Rogers has something to prove under his new coach.

You forget about the Bears defense destroying his soul twice.

Not much of a stretch as you say. But in the AFC, who do you take, KC, NE, or the field to even make it there? I think the Rams have the easier path to get there, but KC could win an awesome SB against them.

This should in no way be seen as an endorsement of them.

Is Belichick still the coach of NE? Is Brady still the QB?

Until one or the other (or both) are no longer true, they are the favorites. They've proven they are just better than everyone else.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

KC????? They won't even hold the division. The Chargers will take the AFC West.

AFC contenders:
- Chargers
- Colts
- NE (they look bad on paper until you remember BB & TB make it happen every year)

NFC Contenders
- Saints
- Rams
- Bears

SB: Chargers : Saints

Winner: Saints

Edit: the Bills are my dark-horse, Cinderella team.

Did the Chiefs get a defense from somewhere? They won't score as often as they did last year, and they'll give up at least as many points per game, so there's no way they make it to, much less win, the SB.

NE for the AFC, and someone (Dallas?) from the NFC. But NE wins again.

Caveat: I have no idea what I'm talking about. That said, I'm gonna go way out on a limb and pick the Pats for the sole reason that to pick against them has proven to be folly for a lot of years.

Yes, the Chiefs have revamped their D.

By the end of next season, the entire Chiefs team will be in jail.

What looks weird to me is the Eagles. They have a much higher probability to makes the playoffs and win their division than those in the 2-4% SB win%. Given conditional probability and the home field/byes that go along with winning divisions, I would expect the Eagles would have a higher SB win%.

Defense should be better. They can’t be any worse. New coordinator, scheme, at least 1/2 the starters etc. It’s certainly different, and overall I like the changes.

I expect Hill to be there for at least the second half of the season. The offense is bound to regress from last years historic production, but they will still be damn good. Predicting SB teams in May is obviously difficult, but absent Mahomes breaking in half I would expect the Chefs to be in the hunt.

Given all the supposed time and money teams tell us they spend for due diligence it's laughable that KC is shooting itself in the foot regularly. Who wants an alleged child abuser on their team?

The Chiefs are a serious question mark. Their defense couldn't stop anyone last year and this off season they released two of their best defense players in Eric Berry and Justin Houston. On the offensive side of the ball they lost 2 of their 3 best players in Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill.

I agree. They've been winning for so long that I'm not even mad anymore.

Berry was one of their best when healthy and playing. He played a limited role in three games last year and the ongoing mystery over his status was an enormous distraction from training camp on. Houston and Ford are losses, but they were either replaced with a better (F. Clark > D. Ford) or players better suited to the new scheme. Overall, the D should be better.

They have not lost Hill as of yet and I expect he will be out there for at least the second half of the season.

That's a big reach, but then again the Chiefs haven't been to the Super Bowl in 50 years so you've got to be due. However, if you support the Chiefs bringing back Tyreek Hill you're a dirt ball.

Everyone will continue to overlook my Browns as they go 13-3 and win the championship for the first time since 1964.

Thanks jackass. However, you’’ll note I didn’t say I supported them bringing him back, but rather I expected him to be back. After he serves an 6-8 game nfl suspension. I don’t expect him to be charged with a crime and unless that happens I don’t expect the team to cut him.

The Browns were so bad for so long, that I wish them well. I love the Baker Mayfield underdog story line. His charisma is contagious. He reminds me of Tim Tebow with skills.

They did lose their left tackle to free agency. Granted they have the best OL coach in the league to train the next up, but those are 380 pound shoes to fill. OL play was huge for the Pats last year, especially with an aging QB like Brady. I'm with you, don't bet against them, but the OL play last year has been largely overlooked and was probably as critical as anything to their success (look how the Rams front was pretty well neutralized).
