Also you can be banned from the military for mental illness and I’m pretty sure that gender dysmorphia is considered a mental illness.

Also being banned from military service isn’t the same thing as being put to death because you’re gay.

Historically hasn’t this been done though. Like kill people for not being Christians (the crusades). Colonization. Segregate people based on religion. Use religion as a reason to segregate people based on race, etc.

And that's not to say that there isn't an extreme blind spot from some on the left with regard to Islam. (I recognize that Islam encompasses a wide array of beliefs, but the majority of the Muslim world and especially Muslim majority countries are not even close to moderate with regard to LGBT, women's rights, etc. This blind spot on the left where any criticism of Islam, even if the criticism is parallel to criticisms of other religions, is automatically considered bigotry is similar in some ways to the right's treatment of Israel, where any criticism of the state is often considered anti-semitism.

And I never said that there wasn't. I took issue with the blanket statement that Duffy made.
