big difference between aero drop bars vs. flat bars?

I am deciding to buy the Hed Corsairs, but having trouble deciding on buying the drop bars, or the flat bars. Is there one that is more aero? What's the difference b/t the two? Thoughts?

Here is another way to think about it in th econtext of a road bike.

Most people would be more comfortable going into the drops for a sharp corner, like the 180 turnaround in a TT. This is probably because the resulting lower center of gravity is better the for cornering and the reduced frontal area would help with the acceleration out of the corner. The dropped TT bar is your better bet in this case.

The opposite situation would be climbing, where most people would be more comfortable on the tops of the bars to open up the hip angle and make a little more power. The equivalent TT base bar in this case is the flat bar.
