Yesterday while doing squats I injured my back. I believe I "arched" my back while lifting causing the lower back to strain. I went to the doctor with severe spasms yesterday and he pretty much loaded me down with narcotics. Valium, Vicodin, Skalaxin, and some motrin for swelling.
Anyway all these drugs have helped the spasms subside and the pain is significantly better. I am not even close to being ready for workouts yet, but I can walk pretty good now. Has anyone had experience with this type of injury? Is there anything to avoid as I feel better? Should I start to introduce workouts slowly with swimming, then running, then cycling? I usually do yoga 2X a week should I stay away from this for a while?
