Francois,
I thought my job was slack!
Do college profs ever work? Or is today your day off. Got an hour run in today at lunch and thought I was doing good. Was going to spin another hour on the bike trainer tonight but since it's St. Paddy's Day I'll have to bag it for a couple of Guiness instead.

Gooday mates, Happy St. Patties to all. Here's the breakdown for my 5 days of suffering and zen on feet, wheels and chlorine:
sat. 44pt. -- 11mile run
sun. 113 pts. -- 113 mile bike
mon. 73 pts. -- 3k swim, 43 m. bike
tues. 42 pts. -- 9m. run, 6m. bike
wed. 33 pts. -- 33 mile bike
total after 5 days: 305
Thanks to whoever it was for the "climbing" inspiration for the bike. I awoke this morning and cranked 2000 feet up a sinister Flagstaff mountain before work. A black squirrel with rabbit ears crossed the road before me. Is this possible or typical after five days of Epic Camp?

Wednesday- DAY 5 Totals
Easy Day:
26mile ride= 26 points.
60min killer strength session- (points?)
Total after 5 days: 280 points (not including strength session)
BTW: Did Slowman make a call on Strength (lifting) sessions? I had a gnarly 60min lift yesterday but am not sure what if/any points I should get for it? Swim should be interesting today as my upper body is quite sore.

Day 5:
Swim with Masters group at lunch: 3,000 - 30 pts.
Bike 35 miles on trainer in PM. 35 pts.
Total for day 5 - 65 pts
Total for day 1-5: 294 pts.
Was planning on 2.5 hr ride, but got held up at work and would have run out of daylight if I hit the road. 2 hours was my limit on the trainer. I did watch an old video tape that had 1990 Tour de Trump. The race featured an out of shape Lemond, and a first year pro from Russia named Ekimov. Some of the teams still didn't use the aero bars and the ones that did looked pretty funny to today's standards.

Thanks for the motivation. It's embarrassing to post, but:
Sat: 40 Miles Bike: 40 pts
Sun: Spin class + ahstanga Yoga ~20 pts*
Mon: 2800 Y swim 25.5 pts
Tue: 20 Mile bike + 5 mile run 40 pts
Wed: 2800 Y swim + 12 mile bike 37.5 pts
Total: A very non-epic 163 pts. That's not even hemi-semi-demi epic.
My disclaimer is that I'm in build right now, so my volume is lower, but I'm working hard. I'll be back to stupid volume (well, stupid for me) real soon now. Honest, I will.
*(I should have done a 13 mile run, but this was my concession to having a semblance of a social life. Also, the workout felt like it earned more than 20 points, but I'm not cheating.)
Question: Are we using the .914 Meter to Yard conversion, or treating them as 1:1?

Man ... I hope you all are in base training for IMs cause I'm getting absolutely slaughtered here.
I'll lead with my excuses: Since my scheduele (not coinciding with the shorter winter pool scheduele, outdoor) has kept me out of the pool, and my bum left ankle keeping me from really running, and a stupid research project I'm working on have all conspired to keep my figures looking like that of a cyclist instead of triathlete.
3-13: 53 mi bike
3-14: off
3-15: 6.2 mi run (probably not a good idea, hobbling for 2 days)
3-16: 65 mi bike (but I can still bike, trying to feel out race pace, 1/2 IM)
3-17: 18 mi bike
Total: 160
Hopefully I can really tally some mileage this weekend down at Lake San Antonio. The plan for the weekend is:
Fri: ~50mi bike (stupid meeting)
Sat: 56mi bike, 1500yd open water (does wildflowers bike course count for extra pts?)
Sun: 24mi bike, 13mi run. (hows about the run?)
Sun might turn into a 56mi (bike), 13mi (run) brick if my bike legs still feel good.
Hopefully that will get me closer to back on track, maybe I can hit 350.

3-14: off
3-15: 6.2 mi run (probably not a good idea, hobbling for 2 days)
Hopefully that will get me closer to back on track, maybe I can hit 350.

do we get extra credit for avoiding death?
rode 4h20' was heading home to get some water, turn in my street (which is uphill but the turn is at the bottom of a small downhill)...somehow, I managed to avoid a moron in a truck who was running through a stop sign AND driving on the bloody wrong side of the street!!! I avoid the truck, take the turn and flat the front wheel (like, completely flat at once), about 25mph...
somehow, I did manage to stay on my bike (which is good knowing my poor technical skills, so my Tiphoon is not yet baptized...and I intend to keep it that way!)
of course, the moron, didn't stop, he probably didn't see anything either.
anyway, that still adds 96pts (rode steady the whole time wth two 6mi climbs)

Unfortunately nothing even semi-epic for a day that listed a 6 hour ride. (That's just not going to happen on the indoor trainer!).
Just a 30 mile ride and 3.2k swim for 62 points.
Total thru day 5: 300pts.

SHIT - you guys are killing me.
6 days (thru 3/18) 159 points. The most I anticipate is 315 points total.
Ok, ok, but I should get extra points for: (I'll estimate)
2 sessions with weights (Tue & Thu):10 pts ea= +20
Triathlete Wife (needs her training time): 20pts for each training hr she has had so far: 4*20=80
2 kids (1 infant & 1 toddler): 1000 points each=2000
Both kids have bad colds right now:250*2=500
# of times I get up at night to tend to sick kids: 3x per night:18*25=450
Full time job (not on spring break):50 per day: 300
1.5 hours in commutes daily: 1.5*6=9hrs x 20 per hr=180.
Participating in the Becca thread: -50
Total Revised 6 day total: 3,639
I believe that that puts me in the lead. Whoo Hoo!

I have not switched over to tri training in earnest quite yet due to a 50K XC ski race this weekend. Typically, I equate XC skiing to be 2/3 between biking and running, so let's say if I was to qualify for Virtual Semicamp participation (which due to the lack of tri specific training is unlikely), here are my totals.
So let me assume that
1 mile running = 4pts
1 mile skiing = 2.5 pts
1 mile biking = 1 pt
Sat: 33 Mile XC ski ( 3hour) = 82 pts
Sun: 25 Mile XC ski (2.33 hour) = 62 pts
Mon: 10 Mile run (75 min) = 44 pts
Tue: 20 Mile XC ski (2 hour) = 50 pts
Wed: 8 Mile Run (1 hour) = 32 pts
Total Sat - Wed = 270 pts
Damn, this camp is on a taper week. I'm getting blown away by all you studs. I'll log zero for Day 6 and Zero to 12 pts max for day 7.
