is hoka still the best shoe for someone with ankle osteoarthritis?

i stopped running for a few years, but was able to start doing it again when i got some hoka cliftons. i don't run a lot, to avoid wear and tear, but i've noticed it gets worse every year whether i run or not, so adding in a little so i can race a few tris still seems reasonable to me.

i stopped for the winter and am just getting started again, and its time for new shoes. is there anything i should be considering aside from the hokas?
