Re: I'm moving to Atlanta (I'M MOVING TO ATLANTA!!!) [jimmyh49aus]
Welcome...all good info already provided. Emory masters is crowded when university swim team trains (early morning & afternoon Sep - March). Masters only gets few lanes but great pool as is GA Tech (think Swim Atlanta runsvthat one). Both Tech & Emory fairly close to your planned living area. Piedmont Park is decent for running and have .5 mile gravel oval on interior of park for intervals. VA Highland used to have group runs from George’s Deli on Wednesday evenings with beer to follow. grant Park ok area for running with the previously mentioned tartan track close by (used as training site for ‘96 Olympic Games). Podium Multisport shop close to Emory area and can clue you in on rides and is complete tri shop. Coach Hal has running group that has structured sessions on couple of tracks I believe. Google him.

On historical note, Australian Tony de Leede opened Australian Bodyworks in 80’s in ATL, made a bunch of $ and returned to Australia where think he is still active in health club community.
