If color is your only issue, why not take it to a local powder coater? I priced having an entire bike frame done, and that was $100. A single chainring might be $10-20.
As for aero, you could always use monokote to close in the holes in the x-sync...and even blend in the crank arm. I'm considering doing exactly that, and testing it over this off-season. In which case, you don't even need to care about the color of the ring because it will be covered.
