As a responsible dog owner who invests heavily (time and $) in training, it really bothers me when irresponsible people give us a bad name. If you have a dog, you need to have control and pick up after it. Control over your dog is for their safety as much, or more, then it is for anyone else's safety. I generally don't take my dogs to dog parks because most owners don't seem to have voice control over their dogs. If I say "down", my shepherd drops right where she is, even if she's playing. If I say "heel", she's at my left side within 5 seconds. Anyone who is amused by their dog's aggressive behavior or scaring people with a dog is not fit to own one.

If someone asks if my dog bites, the answer is "only on command".
