Training is my job
i approached it with Joel as "15 weeks to Hawaii"
Peak week was 27.5hrs.
Longest continuous workout was 7hrs - that ride was 6:15 and then 45min run off the bike.
This week I am supposed to do one "activity" each day. I might be able to swim a little today and tomorrow
hey there - congratulations. that was an awesome performance. its really inspiring.
here are some follow up questions based on the aggregated answers above.
1 - do you ever not have a race on the calendar? if not, if you always have a race coming, please think of a period with that race is furthest away. what are you hourly numbers during that sort of period?
2 - this is your "one activity a day" week and then you have 8 weeks to kona. will you get back to 27 hrs between now and then?
3 - will you add or change anything to make your training more "kona specific"? will the s/b/r ratios change?
thanks for fielding these. this is very generous of you.
cheers
1 - in the winter, about 18-20 hrs. Big difference is really that long run is less long and, even more, long ride is less long and pretty much all rides are shorter. Overall structure is similar.
2 - I'd expect so. But I'm not too concerned if I don't.
3 - Not sure yet. That's up to Joel. But I think not much will change. Probably do a very similar build to MT.
